Hi, newbie here. I am in the process of swapping SR5 dash upgrades from a 91 4runner to my 93 Xtracab 5spd manual pickup. Clock, stereo and speakers, glove box light no problem. I'm going crazy trying to find how to wire the cigarette lighter/ash tray light. The 4runner harness has a 4 wire plug to the lighter/ash tray light that includes a white w/green stripe wire. The 93 has a 2 wire plug for the lighter only. There is NO white with green stripe wire anywhere in the 93 main wiring harness. Does anyone know what the white with green stripe wire is and where I can run it to make the swap work?

Holy crap man, take that thing to the best stereo and amplifier installer in town and let him do it… Pay the extra money, you’ll probably have to add a fuse or two also.

Thanks for the advice but I only need a functioning source of music and news, not a 'sound system'. The existing radio did not work and I have a non-running rust bucket 4runner to steel parts from. Anyway, the radio works fine in the swap. All wires/plugs were there. As mentioned, it is the 4runner SR5 cigarette lighter harness where there is an extra wire that does not exist in the non-SR5 pickup.

My point was, the “stero” installers know how to do all the other electrical stuff, window switches wire harness, stereo, amps, lights, gizmos.. all of it. They can fix it..
