Exhaust Tips - What's the Point?

    I know they're just for looks, but does anyone really think they look good?

    On our trucks you can see where the standard pipe ends and the shiny exhaust tip begins. So the transition looks worse than just the standard pipe extending all the way through.

    At least that's my thinking.

    Do you have a different opinion?

    They are super lame. I hate anything that serves no purpose and that is the epitome of no purpose.

    To be fair I also hate skewps and bumper fascias but I think I'm stuck with those dumb things.

    If some people didn’t think they looked good, they wouldn’t be made. Some people like em, some don’t. I had one on my Tacoma, but only because someone gave it to me. I didn’t think enough of it to remove it and swap it over when I bought the 4Runner.

    Yeah, I have no problem if you have one or like them. To each their own.

    But how do you rectify the logic of having one on our trucks (and a lot of vehicles for that matter) when you can see the standard pipe end and the chrome tip begin in plain sight? Doesn't that defeat the point of having a chrome tip in the first place?
