    Hi guys,

Anyone know the size of the bolts that are used to release the brake rotors? They're not M8. Of all the extra hardware that I have laying around, I cannot find the correct size and I don't live close to town.

Need the size of bolt for the holes that are shown in the 11 and 5 o'clock position in the photo.

    Thanks!

Got 'em! So, it seems that I was wrong. It looks like M8 worked! I'm not sure on the thread pitch, which leads to me realizing that I need to finally buy a thread gauge for the shop. Sorry guys, wish that I could be more specific, but it does look to be an M8 bolt that I used to pop the rotors off.

Thanks! I need this information right now. I also doubted that it was an M8, but after your advice, I decided to try it anyway, and it worked! It's good that I bought a lot of bolts and fasteners in advance so that, if necessary, I didn't have to look for them somewhere in stores. Screws, bolts, and other necessary things should always be stored in your garage, as you can regularly need them if your car or tractor is constantly in operation. Therefore, it is better to stock such things and be able to try to apply different bolt diameters at any time.

I seem to remember seeing a brake job video where the guy released the rotor with one of the bolts he removed to get the caliper off.

The bolt that holds the brake line bracket nearest to the caliper fits it perfect.
