Ok, my gear shift lever has been sloppy since I can remember. Put it in drive and I can move it with my thumb until it shows the selector in neutral or 2nd even though it does not actually shift. Does anyone else have that issue or had it and was able to fix it?

Thanks guys, now I know what to look for. Much cheaper on Ebay. By the way, is it an easy repair or involved? Thanks.

It wasn't hard at all. Take apart the console, remove the bolts holding the gear indicator, get under the truck and disconnect the shift linkage. I watched a couple YouTube vids. It took like 90 minutes and a couple beers start to finish. Let me find a link...

Mine was only slightly different being a 4wd. But other than that it was almost identical.

Ok, I am working on this but I cannot figure out how to lift the console out so I can access the bolt. I have 4WD and none of the videos I have seen address this. Can anyone help?

OK I figured it out and got it all done except now I have to take it all apart again as I didn't check to make sure everything was installed correctly. There are 2 wiring harnesses that run along side it the linkage underneath the body and apparently when I installed it, I spilt the 2 harnesses. Also I lost the pin that goes in the linkage somewhere and I cannot find it but I did find a bolt that fit perfectly. Now to redo it all. Dammit.
