Ordered a set of apex overland recovery points on Tuesday and had them in hand on Friday.
Shipping was very fast, packaging was great, and all hardware was included.
Paint and finish as well as figment was spot on.

Tools needed are minimal and entire process took about 45 minutes. That could be reduced by about half if you took a minute to remove the skid plate.

Start off by removing the sway bar bolts on both sides using a 14mm. Take out the bolts and save for if you ever go back to stock.

Then grab a 12 mm and remove the bolt that attaches this metal line bracket, bag bolt

Once the sway bar bolts are removed on the drivers and passengers sides as well as the hard metal line bracket bolts you’re ready to install the recovery points

Using the new hardware simply slide the bracket into place and start all the new bolts and then snug everything up.
New bolts that are included install with a 13,17,&19mm

Very simple job with a rewarding outcome

*wobble socket 14mm made the sway bar bolt removal raiser with the skid in place

I can’t speak highly enough. They sell
A rock part at a great price and make things very easily. I’ll absolutely recommend them to anyone and will be looking at more stuff to order from them

I’ve considered them but with Kings the brackets for the reservoirs fits under the sway bar where this would bolt. I don’t think these will work with Kings.

Not sure on room or fitment...
Couldn't you use a shock clamp & just clamp the reservoir to the main body or just relocate?
    I may be ignorant here...
    Trying to help!

I have these and they are rock-solid, well worth the extra insurance.

I will be ordering ours as soon as we plate it, expel wrap it & make the first payment.
Apparently, my wife doesn't like buying things before we make a payment on the vehicle.
I see her point. I also see very cool protection parts & more!
I may have to sell some things to finance this build! The vehicle is worth it, I know that!

I just found these folks are thirty minutes from me and had them install my suspension this week. Very happy with the whole process. I plan on getting the recovery points from them as well.

They always sell out quick, get them while you can. LFD Offroad manufactures these for Apex so you know the cuts and welds are high quality. You are fortunate they are local. Shipping is a little steep due to the weight and also the way they package the recovery points in the box.

How did you get the sway bar to drop down enough to install these? I am having a heck of a time trying to pull it down out of the way to get the recovery points into place.

I dropped both sides of the sway bar then used a floor jack to hold up the bar to reassemble. Its heavy and awkward

    Just finished installing mine.

Just to be clear, I think the product is well designed and built. I did, however, change things up a bit.
I unpacked them (they were well packed) and the powder coat had chipped and just a little tug had the paint peeling away. So I ran them thru the sandblaster just enough to rough them up for painting, then gave them 3 full coats of bed-liner coating. Shit rusts real quick up here in Montreal, hopefully I've prevented any premature corrosion.

Then I realized that the pretty red shackles I bought would be rubbing up next to the OEM tie-down loops, so I wrapped the loops with rubber from a tire tube. Also put heat-shrink on the shank of the clevis pin to keep it from rubbing down the bed-liner & powder-coat paint on the brackets, and used the rubber washers that came with the clevis to keep the clevis from swinging freely.
I've accepted that I have a severe OCD issue going on LOL.

That's when I realized that the two biggest bolts go sideways into the frame. Didn't realize this during the install, because the truck had those holes taped up perfectly. Had to loosen everything up enough to remove the tape, then button it all back up again

Believe it or not, the biggest issue I had was re-installing that heavy bastard of a TRD aluminum skid-plate, even with the use of the floor jack. I think that when the time comes for an oil change, I'll drive the front end up on ramps, that should give me some wiggle room.

Ordered a set a week ago. Looking forward to having them on. The lack of recovery points on the T4R bugs me. I have carried a strap & shackles for decades, and it gets use, almost always for hauling some idiot back onto the road or some project on the farm. At least the Tacoma ORs have a decent hook. I carry a receiver shackle adapter for the rear in every truck.
Does anyone have experience doing an install on a KDSS T4R?

You didn't have to cut the skid plate to get them on?

Nope. I was warned that the original version of these recovery points would prolly not fit my 2019, so I waited for an updated version.
I will tell you this though. If the oil filter is over the bottom horizontal section of the skid-plate, I'm making an opening to be able to access the filter without removing the the skid-plate every time.

I bought a set, haven't put them on yet. Debating on doing a bumper instead, so they may not go on at all. The potential to have to cut into my skid plate was kind of a turn off. But good to know that you didn't have to!
Also, on my 2018, I have an access door for the drain plug, not sure about the filter though. I'll have to check.

So I’m a new 4Runner owner!!! Yea me. I ordered these recovery points. A couple questions for you folks. I assume you jack up both sides to take pressure off the sway bar, but how much? If a lot will the sway bar fall too much. Another question. The hole for the shackle seems really close to the tie down points. Will a good size shackle hit or run in those factory points? Thanks.

How about soft shackles? Aren't they better?

Would like some of these for my 4Runner one of these days..
