Traded my 2016 LE for a 2019 Nightshade. Then added the USR blacked out tail lights.

    Congratulations!
Slick looking. Haven't seen many in that color yet, I like it! Already got the tint for that Oklahoma sun. Are you keeping the 20" wheels? Just curious.

Thanks. Yes, I plan on keeping the wheels, I actually like them. I would like to see a little more rubber on them though.

Not sure how much more you can get with the 20"s. That is why I asked. I am sure others will be of more help but you may be maxed out already.

Yea, it was just an observation. I’m going to stick with the stockers for now.

Congrats on the auto tech that's badass. I was just catching up on this thread and wanted to share an experience. I went to a welding school about 10 years ago and worked as a fabricator up until about a year ago. I paid like 10k to go through the 9 or so month welding program. I wish I would have done some more research before I went through it ( I was 21 and wanted to get my life going.) Looking back on it, I could have spent that money and a couple nice welders and taught myself how to weld and then pay the 400 per test and went and got certified myself. Granted the program helped me get a job when I was done. Im certified through AWS in TIG, FCAW and SMAW. I'm not trying to deter you or talk shit I'm just sharing something that maybe helps. Either way welding is a great skill to have. I love driving through town seeing things I've built or helping buddies with their rigs, it's definitely a skill to be proud of!

    Thanks for the info bro!

I have free schooling through the GI Bill, and have never welded anything... I guess I could watch a bunch of videos and just go for it and try and teach myself... But really I'd rather be taught all the correct ways of doing it so I don't develop bad habits starting off.

I'm a disabled veteran. I'm doing this to learn as a hobby really... Keep me busy. I won't be going to work after school, so really even the certifications are not that important to me, but I will most likely still take the test anyway... I am with ASE testing...

After Auto tech school I'll have one more year left of free education benefits before they expire, and the welding program is 1 year... Might as well get the full benefits while I can....

Heck ya! I used to work with a bunch of younger veterans and it amazed me how many guys don't use their GI bills. Use that shit! You more than earned it. Have fun with welding, it's a cool feeling to finish something and be able to be proud of it and know you made it!

A lot of people could learn from you, you are the perfect example of education for practical purposes! I 1,000% applaud your desire & commitment.
I did buy & am self taught. I cannot say that my welds would pass any test but they hold up to the abuse I put them through.
I cannot remember (stupid busy); do you have a welding or are you still looking? There are a lot of choices...

Thanks man! Most people i know, and plenty i served with didnt use their GI Bill either. We paid for it, in service, and it cost us 1200 dollars, 100 a month for the first year of service. Seems like a serious waste NOT to use it.

Thanks bro. Its funny you say that... My wife didnt understand why i chose auto when i did... She was like "out of everything you could pick, you want to learn to be a mechanic?" But i explained to her that since i cant go and work, i might as well learn something i am interested in and could prove useful in the future... Now i have completely fixed an impala that we've had sitting in the yard for over a year because a shop wanted $2K in just labor to fix. Cost me less than 300 bucks, and my time.... And we have an offer to buy it for over the KBB value. NOW SHE IS HAPPY I PICKED IT LMAO, And she didnt even question me when i said, Ya know what? Im enrolling in welding after auto tech.

I dont have a welder, it will probably be a while before i do. I cant afford a decent rig at the moment. I think i will wait for the program before i go and buy one. Id like to have a basic understanding at least before i drop a bunch of money. And to be honest i have spent WAY too much money on the garage, 4runner, and other "wants" right now. If i ended up getting one now it would be a cheap one, and it would likely not be that good.

    But in good time!!

Finally got my windows tinted today. Now the only thing I am missing are the TRD Pro Wheels! I had the dealer tint stripped off the driver and passenger window, and went with 15%. The rest of the glass was factory colored and could not be taken off. I like my vehicles to match, and I went with 30% on all of the other windows. That, on top of the factory tint gave me about a 10-12% result. Tint 1.jpg tint 2.jpg

The dealer had already installed 265/60-20 KO2's on mine. They're about .9" taller than stock and should be mounted on a minimum 7.5" rim. I'm thinkin' they may wear more in the center. When they need replacing, plan is to go with 17's and stock size tires like I did with my '13 Limited. They do rub a bit on the plastic wheel well liner at full lock when backing.

What all did you use to make it look so clean; if you don’t mind sharing? … I was under my hood today as well, not cleaning but taking a gander at how I plan to mount & install some KC LED Cyclones for under the hood lights.
Also, finished installing my “Tail as Turn” mod; installing new LED backup lights and fog’s.
