Anyone know of anyway to add blind spot monitors to a 2019 4Runner? I had a '16 Tacoma that had them and I loved them. I was told when shopping for a 4Runner that it wasn't an option. I don't rely on them but instead liked having them as a backup plan in case you don't see a vehicle on the highway and they actually did protect me a couple of times from cars in my blindspot. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

    Option 1: spend $100s on a DIY or $1000s at a shop - https://youtu.be/vbn1A4ysvD0

Option 2: spend $75 on replacing side mirrors with Rav4 mirrors with integrated blind spot mirrors - https://youtu.be/Fst5ffOSpPI

Option 3 (for cheapos like me): Spend $5 on those circle blind spot mirrors and stick them to the corners of your side mirrors

If you search for "blind spot mirrors" you'll get a page that shows what people have done to their 5th gen 4runners.
You'll see a picture of what the mirror looks like when Rav4 mirrors are used to replace the 4runners.
The rav4 part numbers are shown, etc.
Then you can search for a video entitled "blind spot mirror install on 5th gen 4rummer.
The video shows how to do the switch. According to the originator the rav4 mirrors fir perfectly on the 4runner.

I would think that a Toyota dealer could do it easily if you can't.

I happened to notice this the other day because I just bought a 20204runner and missed the "blind spot mirrors on my Edge.

Someone beat me to it.....check it out.

Are the Rav4 mirrors the same shape?

Do the Rav4 mirrors actually have the monitors in the mirror that light or are they just the additional corner mirror?

I upgraded my mirrors to the Suma wide angle mirror. allows you to see a wider angle including your blindspots.

    Currently stock; MODS coming soon.
I upgraded the stock rear view mirror to a wider and curved rear view mirror. It eliminated the blind spots. Also was considering the RAV4 mirrors but just didn’t get around to ordering them at the parts counter or online.

    Signal
    Mirror
    Over the shoulder
    Go
    Cancel.

As a motorcycle rider I abide by this. I’ve noticed that most BSM systems don’t recognize bikes and I have had on more than one occasion a driver merging into my space without looking and relying on the monitors. Please. For that sake of those of us on two wheels. Signal, check your mirror, look over your shoulder, if clear, change lanes and then cancel your indicator.

I've had people even with the BSM merge into me in my truck when they are obviously lit up.

I myself, being a retired CDL and currently holding an M1 endorsement, I trust all 4 side mirrors. When we bought our 4R, one of the first things I did was to install 3" convex BS mirrors. I did this by making my own brackets to bolt on to the lower part of the factory mirrors.
And I've done this to most all of my vehicles, the TJ and past '10 Rav4, '98 4R, '14 Taco and so on.
Probably comes from my Dad teaching me when I was 12, how to drive, in his new (then) '70 Toyota HiLux.
He also taught me how to back up a trailer w/o looking over my shoulder, by taping a piece of cardboard on the back window. Mean but effective.

Guys the OP was asking about the monitor/indicators not the mirror glass itself.
