    Bought new 2020 on Sunday.
So far so good. Very smooth I am impressed. Most all miles so far on the freeway commuting to work. I didn’t expect avg 22.3 mpg but that is what it is telling me so far. I hope it’s not lying, I wasn’t expecting that good of mpg. Very happy so far, but I still need to learn all the functions in the cockpit like the infotainment and all that.
Now the dealer says the 2020 TRD Off Road models come standard with KDSS. I am not so sure about that and I don’t know how to prove that it does. But I have reason to think maybe it does not. There was another 2020 OR that had KDSS listed as an option, mine it is not listed in the options but dealer showed me a doc that states all 2020 OR’s come standard with KDSS. Anyone know for sure?

Well it’s not like I was looking for KDSS. But subject came up. I was going to get this one anyway.

The salesman was either an idiot or was hoping you were. KDSS is an option. You’ll find a lot of debate as to whether it’s a worthwhile option or not. But in any case, congrats on the purchase, it looks sharp in white!

    Welcome to the forum!

I would expect KDSS to be listed on the window sticker if it was included. I can't imagine why they would make it standard, as there are a handful of people who would prefer not to have it.

You can look underneath on the driver's side and see if the hydraulic lines are running along the frame rail.

    Enjoy your new ride!

    Looks great!

I got the same one last Wednesday. If you look at the car's monroney label, it will list it.

Yes I agree with you. I didn’t believe the guy when he was trying to convince me it is standard. I didn’t care, that was the one I went there to buy and I knew KDSS wasn’t listed in the window sticker option list days before I bought it.

Sometimes I wonder if the salesman is an idiot, or if they're trying to trick the customer.

Does the radio in your truck have that stupid nanny state feature that won’t let you select songs on your iPod or use the GPS at speeds above 5 MPH?

lol I hope not. I haven’t even downloaded Entune app on my phone yet, for example. I did check app(s) out last night finally and the reviews are for shit.

Nice looking ride! just throwing out there...I bluetooth my phone to the truck and have used a music app called PowerAmp for years. Once the phone is paired, the nanny feature can't mess with me.

All I need to be happy is a high-powered stereo with USB port or AUX input.

Funny out here in So Cal the dealer I bought my 4Runner from told me that there would be less 2020 Off Roads coming in with the KDSS option.

In canada, KDSS is not an option, its coming with the OFF-ROAD and Venture (trail edition)

If KDSS is not an option, why is it included in a list comparing option packages? It looks like the list above is saying KDSS is only offered as an option on the TRD Off Road & Venture, but none of the other versions. Otherwise it wouldn't be on the list.

Kind of but choosing a TRD Off-road or a SR5 or a TRD Pro is not an option, you choose a Trim level and these "option" come Standard with the Trim.
KDSS is not optional if you decided to choose a TRD Off-road, it come stock with the Trim level.

In a way that you cannot have a TRD Off-road without KDSS in canada unlike you in US, you can choose the off-road trim level and decided or not to have KDSS.
