3313C80A-2EA4-43D7-8B66-38327BF667C9.jpg My previous post was asking if anyone knew where I could get plugs to go in these holes. I bought some, however I’m afraid they still won’t cover the damage. What would you do? The plug will maybe “just” cover the damage on the right(top) side. I started to shave it with a razor but stopped. I don’t know what to do. Image uploaded sideways, don’t know how to fix it.

They drilled holes for your license plate?

Should have said something before you signed papers

We don’t need a front plate in PA but this 4runner they pulled from Maryland where they do. You’re right, I should’ve said something right away but honestly I was so excited to get it, I didn’t think of it until the next day.

Well sounds like you are stuck.

Plug it or get someone to fill and paint.

Buy a 2nd hand bumper valance off of a trail edition and spray it with bedliner.

We’re required to have one in TX. I was not happy they drilled holes. I get your frustration.

I mounted the plate and moved on. Front bumper replacement coming soon.

In Tx as well. Bought my wife a 2020 limited. I knew what I was going to do. On all my cars in the past, my current Tacoma and this 4Runner I just bought plugs from Lowe’s or HD color code touch up paint from dealer and took care of it. Never ran plates in front and never gotten in trouble. Yes, I’ve been pulled over but guess just lucky.

Rear end someone. Get a new bumper and don’t have them drill it. Problem solved. Lol

Dude, it’s easy! Take the license plate bracket that comes with your 4runner, mount it to these holes and put a „eat more beef“ plate on it! Seriously, it’s not perfect and off course, I’m the same way, you want your new car in perfect condition BUT you screwed yourself. Before you sign the paper you have to take a inspection on what you buy! The salesguy wasn’t very happy with me spending 30min with the car to ensure there isn’t a scratch, dent, mark or something like that in or outside but I rather see him unhappy for a bit than being unhappy myself for awhile.
Here is the good news: you probably don’t let that happen again, what you learned the hard way you won’t forget - I know what I’m taking about

Yeah I agree if those holes line up put a bracket there and buy a vanity "Toyota" plate or something. If you absolutely want nothing there plug them with something or buy new. Perhaps the Dealer will get one in for you cheap or at cost if you ask nicely and do not go in pissed about it. Bottom line should not have taken delivery with two holes there, sorry... However that said they should want to do the right thing also but most dealers suck.

You’re right. It’s my problem now. Well maybe this will make it an easier pill to swallow when I tell my wife I’m getting a C4 low pro bumper .

Thanks for everyone’s input. Concreted what I was thinking already.

Got them. The hole that will be left after I get rid of all the raised plastic might not be covered by the plug.

Don’t get it the wrong way, I’m with you and I would be pretty p....d about the holes BUT it’s one reason more to get at least a hybrid bumper and you learned something you won’t forget so stay positive!

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
Drive fast down a gravel road closely following another vehicle. The holes will be nothing compared to the all the additional rocks scratches.

Or do like I did and cut that portion of the bumper off with a dremel.

It could simply be the way your holding your phone. Are you holding it sideways when you take a pic?

Nope. I’m taking the picture straight up and down (Portrait) not landscape. I saw someone else having the same trouble as me on here as well.

It sure if it’s an option but years ago my Dad hit the bumper on my accord on a portable heater in his garage when he borrowed my car.

I got it “plastic welded” by a body shop and repainted. It was about $300. Maybe after a few miles you could look into that. Some would not pay $300 its all up to the person.

My ex girlfriend did the same thing buying a car from Maryland years ago that was purchased in Michigan where we don’t need a front plate. Those plugs did ok. She did not mind but I did.

I actually have a list of stuff like that for when I get a new car.

    No front plate or holes
    no dealer decals
Please remove window sticker and fold nicely in glove box
    Throw in some touch paint.

    etal
