285/70/17 on a stock 4 runner?

    I am within hours of purchasing 285/70/17's for my 2013 Trail Edition 4Runner. It is stock and i cant seem to find any good reason not to run 285's.

    Maybe I am looking at the math too closely.

    275 to a 285 is not much different except for maybe 1/2 inch or less.

    Hello. I have owned my 4Runner for 3 years and have not done anything to it so far. I have the Trail Edition. Looking to put my first set of tires on my rig. I was wondering if I can sneak a 285 on the stock setup. I have seen it no and I have seen it yes. WHo knows their stuff here?

    Each one is a little different. I rubbed stock with 275s in reverse. I had to move the fender liner to stop rubbing, some have needed CMC, some trim the leading edge on the bottom of the bumper. If I had to bet, you'll rub on either the mud flap, fender liner, leading edge of the bumper, or all of the above when turning full lock. None of those are difficult to remedy.

    Some people have tolerance for rubbing, some don't.

    I had the 285's put on my front right wheel, on the ground and it really rubbed. I went with 275's. I dont feel like shaving or trimming anything.

    Now I a looking at budget lifts. My experience has been with Jeeps and I used premium equipment. My 4Runner is going to be a Mall Crawler. Any suggestions?

    RSG sliders, Yakima offgrid basket, Pro-Comp wheels, SOS Streamline bumper and skids, Warn VR EVO10S winch + Ultimate Sidewinder, Bilstein 6112 + 5100 + rear lift coils, Rigid Dually SS ditch lights w/Caliraised brackets and OEM style dash switch
    Spacers are cheap, but most guys won't recommend them.

    You can get Bilstein 5100's all around and lift coils for the rear for about $600. This will lift and possibly improve ride quality.

    i am leaning towards a rough country lift that will cost me 800 installed....i dont plan to wheel this rig, but i want to look good going to th mall and around town...lol.....any other suggestions are welcomed.

    I just got a quote for 499 installed 2 inch puck lift.....that sounds pretty good to me....just a look I want..maybe th 4runner will see sand and snow...maybe some fireroads, but no crawling...

    I've never had puck levels on any vehicle. They will raise the front but if your liking the stock nose dive during braking and roll around corners that the stock suspension provides a puck/spacer will be fine. If this is your daily driver and your gonna keep awhile I recommend coil overs.
    Look up 4runner lean, front and rear may need different size spacers to get rid of it, some coils are adjustable to level right to left
