Hello from Colorado! I’ve been a lurker here for a while as my wife and I have been looking for a 4Runner for about a year now. She currently drives a Subaru Outback and I’m in a F150. We’re looking for something that combines the capabilities of the two that we can use to explore some of the mountain passes and more remote areas that we have available to us here in CO.

Happily we’ve finally found something that fits the bill and our budget! Here’s some photos and descriptions from the listing. We test drive it a few days ago and have negotiated the price to 30k which seems pretty reasonable to me considering all of the upgrades!

    -2016 Toyota 4Runner Trail Premium w/ KDSS & Entune Music/Navigation system (< 40k miles)
-Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 5 Remote Reservoir Suspension (was professionally installed by Slee Off Road)
    -BFG KO2 285/70/17 33" tires
    -Shrockworks Front Bumper
    -RCI Rock Silders
    -Warn 9.5XP-S Winch
-ARB CKMTA12 On-Board Twin High Performance Air Compressor
    -ARB Awning
-Gobi Stealth Roof Rack w/ Ladder, Shovel/Axe holder, Sunroof Insert, and Spare Tire mount

I’ll be bringing it by a dealer for a pre-purchase inspection but assuming that all goes well we should be bringing it home within the next week if so!

A bit about me, I’m a CO native. I’ve had various off-road vehicles from Jeeps to Trucks over the years but this will be my first 4Runner and Toyota. I’ve camped, hiked, backpacked and mountain biked for many years and I think this will be the prefect vehicle to carry us on those adventures. We haven’t decided if we would replace the F150 or the Outback yet. I’d miss having my truck, but I don’t work in construction anymore so I don’t need it all that often. From a gas mileage perspective it makes the most sense to get rid of it though.

Anywho I just thought I’d introduce myself and share what will hopefully be an exciting new purchase for us! There’s lots of good information on this forum that I’ve been soaking up during our search!

Looks like my 2005 V6 4runner. 150,000 miles on engine and I drive in Bahamas where it's 10 miles at a time max!

These trucks last. Tranny and engine are original. Changed the tranny fluid once (had dealer mechanic change 5 quart D&F with filter) at 103,000 miles, and will do a 5 quart drain and fill soon (no filter this time). Tranny holds 13 quarts.

Amazing to me the tranny on these Toyotas can go to 300,000 miles with just maintenance.

Bought a new 2015 Camry for daughter when she got accepted at Florida State, and 5 years later after she graduated with a 3.3 GPA, the Camry runs like new still. Car has been driven from Miami to Denver - no problem. 4 cylinders.

Just oil and filter changes every 5000 miles and it will get to 300,000. She's got 50,000 on it now!

What amazes me most about my 4runner is the way it always starts and runs when you turn the key. Been through 4 starters because I'm in the Bahamas and it's only 26 miles long.

I bought a new GMC Jimmy once and the body rusted away. Rusted all over. No rust on my 15 year old 4runner body.

Get your (new) starters at Amazon for $100. Good as OEM. I caught a sale at Amazon a year ago and picked up an after market starter for under $80.
