Is there a place to attach aftermarket d rings on 2020 TRD offroad

    2020 TRD OFF-ROAD 4RUNNER
    Replaced 17” OEM WHEELS AND TIRES with 20” that came with my 2015 Limited. Tire size 275/55/R20 Nittos.
    Is there a place to attach d rings on front of 2020 TRD OFFROAD

    No, and that's why I have the SSO Hybrid bumper on the wife's 4runner and just ordered the weld it yourself kit for mine.

    Are recovery hooks not a standard feature of a 4runner? I'm still in the evaluation process to buy so not an owner yet, I drive a tundra. Hard to believe for an off-road vehicle.

    No recovery in front. You have the shipping tie downs but they aren't really mean to be used in that manner.

    To be honest, if this is what sways you from a 4Runner then I believe you might be having other unvoiced concerns and this is just showing up as a figurehead. Lack of a front tow hook which is fairly easily remedied isn't a large concern, mainly due to the fact that if you need that hook you'll likely be wanting a bumper or winch anyways. Tons of low profile options.

    For that matter since you've not bought yet..don't buy a 4Runner if these things are a problem:
    1. MPG
    2. PowaH!
    3. Towing
    4. Hauling a Tundra worth of stuff all the time
    5. Not having a bed
    6. Rear seat in Tundra is massive and you need it all (trust me I get it with a kid)

    But buy one if:
    1. You want it to never die
    2. That you want a Jeep that wont break down and still perform 90% as good as a Rubicon
    3. Deep aftermarket support
    4. Supercharger!
    5. Nimble, much easier to live with in the city vs a big truck
    6. Built in camper shell
    7. Rear seat much roomier than Tacoma for child seats and dogs

    Those look nice...I'm going to have to check to see if they would work with my front receiver hitch.

    This pretty much says it all!

    I think the tie-down hooks could be used in a pinch, but there are aftermarket options as mentioned.

    Or, you can get one of these...

    They serve a purpose when attached to a proper recovery point and responsibly used during a recovery situation.

    Ok so after doing more research,
    it looks like the best option is to install a recovery point on to the frame, then attach the D rings to those. Did you install the recovery point yourself?
    Then I also plan to buy a hitch D ring as well

    Bigger A/T LT Tires, Slight Lift, Sliders, Rack, Lights, etc.
    Many many guys have used the factory points for many a recovery without issue. If you're worried, use a tree saver strap to spread the load (which you should probably be doing, regardless). I bet more successful recoveries have happened with the factory points than attempts even made with the aftermarket options. Get into metallurgy and strength properties if you want.. but the aftermarket options have their own flaws such as weakness when side loading (which occurs in many, if not most, recoveries), etc. etc. You do you. Regardless, recovery is dangerous and should be treated as such. The one clear advantage to the aftermarket solutions, that I'll give them, is that their attachment point is often lower than the factory points, which can help keep the strap/rope off of the bumper. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to have both, if you're really concerned.. I'd use the aftermarket points for forward recoveries, and the factory points when any lateral pull is required. If possible, use a bridle and use two points per recovery.

    Yes, very easy install that can be done in less than an hour with a socket wrench and appropriate sized sockets. Have a torque wrench handy as well.
