I'm new to the 4Runner forum but I'm a member on the Tacoma forum. I drive a 2002 Tacoma but I just got my girlfriend this 97 4runner. Its a one owner mechanic owned clean title 3.4l automatic 220k for $3800. Has a leaking valve cover gasket but that's all that I can tell what is wrong with it so far.

Welcome, you’d never see a vehicle that age look like that in Canada, well, maybe BC. There are still a few left clinging to life, but most have already been scrapped. The Ontario examples I see on the road are rough, rough, rough.

Well we’ve had the 4Runner for a couple weeks now and so far so good. Ive done an oil flush + Change, a new air filter, tire balance and rotation and cleaned mass air flow sensor. The other stuff I’ve done is all cosmetic, new floor mats, new weathertech bug deflector, new AC vent and new cup holders. This I plan on doing:
    • Power steering flush
    • Brake Flush
    • Fix the cigarette lighter and fog lights (both not working).
    • Throttle body cleaned
    • Replace hatch struts (ordered)
    • Replace fuel filter (ordered)
    • After market clear turn signals (ordered)
    • And new rim center caps (ordered)

My fog lights aren't working either, while the switch lights up no problem. I checked the fuse and it's all good, most others have cited a bad ground as the problem...

Let me know how your fog light fix goes, maybe it'll shed some light on mine - pun absolutely intended.
