I got the rear from Mcgeorge and the front from conicelli out near conshohocken. Think front was like 170-ish and rear 144-ish. Bought ten new clips just in case.
I had a local body shop near my parents in north jersey put them on, just didn’t have time or space for a full bumper right now as I’m in a small parking spot without a garage.

Live full time in the greater philly area!

I still need to watch a video on tucking the wires away into the headliner though.

Also still need to buy a hardwire kit so it can record a hit and run.

but pretty happy with it so far.

    On the inlet
There is a restrictor on the inlet side of the air box. Knock that out for good measure. Not sure if it helps or not but the TRD intake doesn’t have it.

Not to be argumentative; but our TRD intake came with the "filter" after the filter. It was attached to the top section of the intake housing. I left ours in as nothing (intake wise) will truly increase HP alone!
It probably doesn't hurt to cut it out. I wouldn't expect anything different.
There are 1,000,000 opinions on the usefulness/ advantages of CAI alone!

Installed my phone mount bracket in the 4Runner today. Doesn't block the clock/ Assessory Meter Display either. It's pretty solid too. Gonna install my cell on one side and a small tablet for GPS on the other side. The Blue Sea fast charging USB input was also added on the right.

The cali emissions carbon filter is not what I'm talking about. This bottle neck restrictor is what I am talking about.

Have any proof of that? It’s a free mod that takes 30 seconds and opens up the inlet. TRD intake comes without it. There must be a reason for that.

    Thanks, i just did..

And based on my previous experience with other intakes, yes, this will help. Not as much as a full intake but it will help the flow into the box.

So prove me wrong. I have no proof it does, you have no proof it doesn't. TRD Intake absolutely improved throttle response. So did the Borla exhaust. This is free, costs nothing but 30 seconds of time. Less restriction on the inlet side of the intake. Can't hurt so why not do it?

    No, no, no...
Not this topic again! No offense to anyone but this horse is dead & eaten.
You cannot truly improve power without calibrations made to make the truck run different.
Does an intake & exhaust help what is essentially a giant air pump (an engine) in the form of less restriction? Yes. Does it add more than maybe 3% more power; nope.
We do have the TRD intake & I love it. After 1,000 miles I have yet to notice an increase in MPG or any serious power increase. It sounds healthier and runs better up top but that is just less restriction that allows that.
Until someone does a G-tech back to back or a real dyno back to back all this is speculative anyway.
    Sorry for the rant.
    Ryan.

Great.... This conversation again.... There is actually tons of proof on this subject, but it doesnt come from the people selling the products. I have used CAIs, and still use an exhaust. I have also had the pleasure of seeing vehicles dyno'd with and without CAIs... An engine is tuned for a certain amount of air, forcing more air into an engine that is not designed to use more air... Nevermind. I dont want to bother with this topic again..... Lets just say the improvements are very minimal if any, but the negatives, are not worth the minimal readable improvements. More air equals more dirt and debris. If you are doing it for sound, just go with an exhaust, less negative impact to your vehicle possible... If you are looking for improved performance, go forced induction and spend the THOUSANDS of dollars needed for that or start with a faster/stronger vehicle.

    And im done with that!!

HAHA beat me by a second.

On another note.... Got me some full weld on sliders ordered from Timbos Customs. Looking forward to it. His prices are great and include the install. Im going with no kickout... As im not really planning on using them HARD on rocks or anything. Mostly protect against door dings, shopping carts, give a place to knock off my boots, and sit close to the vehicle...

I agree on the intake. Very slight improvement, definitely nothing that's going to win a race. I will say I was very surprised at how big a difference the replacement exhaust made. RPM climbs faster, passing power is better, overall it just runs better.

Are you getting fill plates or leaving them open? Never heard of the brand. Do they use existing bolt holes for mounting?
They look nice, I hope it comes out well for you!

*weld on- just read that. Sorry*

He's a guy in Florida, locally, that makes them at his house, big on TacomaWorld and on Facebook groups but no website that I know of.

Same guy that did my BMC, trimmed my bumper, and did the fender liner mod to fit 33s a while back.

yes, ill help due to the less restriction, not a big deal but from drop to drop the glass gets full
the ECU should calibrate to the more air but not to the extend to make a big difference but i does feel breathing better.

    correct...

yeah, on my Titan the intake made a huge difference, here ill be minimal but again combined with the Borla exhaust im sure ill be better than stock.

now let go to the next topic..

im still looking for a good ladder.. i think ill go with Baja Rack for 255 or 285 (cant remember)

Yup just need the intake, headers, and calibrated tune to go with it and you can net yourself a whopping 15hp :spending::yes::D

Then throw on 33s and lose 25hp and 20 lbs of torque LOL

I'm using the 14" Magnaflow. No drone, but much quieter than the 40 series flowmasters I used on all my past Tacomas. It sounds good when you step on the gas, but half the time I forget it's even there.

The 40 series had noticeable drone. But I was used to it... I wish the Magnaflow I have now was a bit louder, bit deeper, closer to the 40 series but without the drone.

But it's better sounding than stock still... Performance is same. Maybe 1.895643 added HP at the crank LMAO

You noticed zero power gains? I noticed an immediate difference with the Borla muffler. No still not a race car lol but a definite improvement. Cut your stock muffler open and check it out. They are extremely restrictive.
