Just purchased a new 2015 4Runner and the seatbelt reminder is driving me bonkers. Does anyone know a way of disabling the alarm?

Buy a USB to OBD II cable with TIS software from Amazon, using a Windows PC and the TIS software it is an option that can be turned on or off as well as others like keyless remote windows roll up or down and rear window control with key, there are quite a few 'dealer programmable' options that can be changed. I paid less than $30 for the cable with software and have a Win 8.1 tablet constantly hooked up to the OBD II to monitor everything and allow changes.

In the manual for your truck it lists it as an owner option.Next time you go to your dealer have them plug it in and disable it internally. why would you do it any other way. I bought my 2010 4runner used and they still did it for me....Free of charge...Be nice to your dogs there love is unconditional.

All the dealers in Atlanta wouldn't do it for me because its technically supposed to be there by DOT regs. Or they wanted money for a 5 second fix. The cable comes in handy regardless for a bit of fine tuning when a CAI or exhaust system or anything gets added.

Got a link to the specific one you bought off Amazon? There seems to be a few competing products.

That specific seller isn't there anymore. They're all basically generic knock-offs and probably all work. Mine was $31.99 with free shipping.

The passenger seat alarm would go off with my backpack in it and drive me nuts. That's why I originally took it off

I know how to do it on the 4th Gen in 10 seconds but have not figured out the 5th Gen yet. Where are you located? I have the full factory TISTechstream if you are close to Atlanta.

I think you can tune it off with the carista.
