Just wanting to get some of y’all input on this, I came from a taco and I had Bilstein 6112’s and 5160’s on it. I didn’t have any complaints, I’m looking at getting new suspension once I get my union dues refund and tax return next month and I’ve been shopping around.

I’ve been looking at getting the same Bilstein set up (6112’s and 5160’s), tue Fox 2.0’s with rear externals. Or maybe splurging and getting Kings. However those are probably overkill.

I’m looking to raise the truck a few inches and clear 285’s. The vehicle will be 95% on road and 5% off-road. Mainly fire roads and light to moderate trails.

I was hoping to get some input and opinions on these set ups to help me decide. Thanks!

I just went through this again looking to upgrade from the bilsteins and after a fair amount of research I decided to stick with them for this new 4runner.

People on here seem to rate these very highly:

    Eibach Pro Truck Kit
    Dobinson Coils and shocks
    Bilstein 6112/5160
    King

I can confirm that the Eibachs ride really nice, as I have them on my truck. My second choice would be Dobinsons (just based on price and what I use my truck for). I'd love to have Kings, but they're way overkill and too spendy for my uses.

I just had the 6112s and 5160s installed 2" Icon springs in the back. Front was set at 2.5" I love the way it handles. No complaints at all. My driving is very similar to yours. Camping, hunting and beaches, but mostly a DD for work.

I'm running the Eibach kit for almost a year, have yet to hear anything bad about it. Really made a huge difference in the handling, but don't have any experience with other set ups.

My ultimate list of mods includes this system, 275 tires, and some rock sliders. Getting those installed before I retire at the end of the year would be my goal. I don't really give a hoot about a grille swap, LED lighting, sound upgrades, bumpers, skid plates, and the like; what off-roading I would do wouldn't require those. Suspension, sliders, and tires would keep me happy for a long time. The sliders are overkill, but the OEM steps are lacking...
