Hi, just wanted to share my V8 blues as I call it. I love 4runner I purchased my first 4runner in 1995 it was stick shift but I love that truck. I replaced my 95 runner for a 2004 especial edition v8 and I Love it. I had 230k miles on it. I just replace it for a 2019 SR5 2×4 6v and I miss the V8. I'm really trying to enjoy this truck but I have V8 blues.
I think about installing a magnuson supercharger however is a bit expensive.
Have you had the same experience?

    Welcome!

I often think about a GX460 for the v8 but my 4 is completely setup and should last me a long time. You mentioned the other option which is the SC, I want one.

TRD cai (oem paper filter), URD Y pipe, 2.5" pipe to a Magnaflow muffler w 2.5" pipe out the back helped mine quite a bit. Truck weighs 5900 lbs so it really needed it. No regrets, although having a SC would be nice, but I couldn't squeeze 6k. Welcome!

    Welcome to the forum!

I also had a 4th gen V8, and I do miss the beautiful torque!

Honestly, though, I don't miss it in every day driving. The newer V6 is actually faster than the pre-VVTI V8 was. I'm not sure about the 2005+ VVTI version, though.

The times I do miss it is when towing, and occasionally on the freeway when I'm in the hills or fighting a head-wind.

As stock, the V6 is sufficient. With significant added weight, though, I could definitely see wanting more power.
