Thank you for the photo. I've not seen those before. Are they a Toyota product, or aftermarket?

I also like the previous version you had from the TRD. Do they still offer those for sale, and one more question - do you remember if they attached in two or three locations?

    Thank you.

They attach in three locations and yes I still have them, been meaning to sell them. I don’t have the hardware for them though, had to use them on my current setup as those didn’t come with any.

Are those turkey tracks leading up to your driver's door? Nice to see another red Colorado Runner!

My new to me 2018 ORP after I paint corrected and detailed it. I plan to remove the side steps and have started blacking out all the silver.DBFC6F46-2933-4A9D-8683-5506D74A6B4B.jpg

Do the red 4Rs have paint that fade fast? I am assuming need to keep well waxed ?

I have not heard of any issues with the red. I know white is having the paint peal issue but haven't seen any issues with the red. I do however regularly wash and wax mine. Mine is also parked in a garage and parked in a garage at work, so it does not get a ton of sun, except with "overloading".

that rich red color unfortunately fading away, as clear coat slowly scratching and eroding fast when 4runner's owner using carwash. usually next to carwash is detailing business, that restore shine, briefly. you gotta wash your baby yourself, do it right, and wax it too.

Best thing I did was buy a pressure washer to wash her. I still use the touches during the winter since you can't exactly attach the pressure washer to the water spigot when it is below freezing. But I try to my best to keep up with the hand washes and waxing during the summer months.

I can appreciate that. I used to be the guy going to the quarter wash with buckets in winter, heaters in garage and wax in winter but I am getting too old for that stuff. The red shine looks so awesome though. You guys have some sharp rigs.

I remember the non metallic bright reds in rangers and mustangs of the day and those things looked like crap after a few years. I was wondering how these being a metallic paint held up. Sounds like it still needs that TLC. I suppose it’s like anything else we get what we put into it.

It used to be that red and black were colors that were the worst to keep up and just the worst against the sun and elements. But i think the newer paints are better against that with regular care, the color will last at lot longer and not oxidize as much. Especially parking 100% outside.

Can't wait to see the changes! They are great rigs!

I can't really remember being sun fade issues with this color that I can think off.
