Earlier this week I was looking for some 4Runner parts in Deep East Texas and I found this beautiful Highlander/Sport Edition scooped hood. This is a rare find - it is only the 3rd scooped hood that I've seen in a salvage yard in over a year and I visit them several times a month. This is from a "fresh" 2000 4Runner that arrived a week ago and was just starting to get picked apart.

The "points" near the windshield and the front corners are in perfect condition - not bent. This hood was removed from a 2000 4Runner and placed in the back of my 4Runner on a furniture pad. This hood has never touched the ground unless it was on the ground in 1999 or 2000 at the factory. When I unloaded it from my 4Runner I placed the "points" on dish towels so they wouldn't touch the tile floor.

The underside is in excellent condition. Everything is there including the heat shield, underside attachments for the scoop insert, the VIN #, TOYOTA stamped in the steel, two factory instructional stickers, and the clips for the washer fluid line. All 11 plastic/rubber discs that hold the heat shield are there - this is rare.

I realize that this price is not cheap, but please keep these things in mind when you are evaluating this purchase:
    - You can buy a cheaply made aftermarket hood for $100, add the Toyota scoop insert and other extras for $150, and then paint match and blend into the fenders Millennium Silver and you would probably be well over $400 with a reputable paint shop, plus you wouldn't have an OEM hood.
    - I bought my Stellar Blue Sport hood from Long Beach, CA for $300, paid fellow forum member Brent $150 to box, crate and transport the hood to be shipped, then I paid Greyhound $141 to ship it, and finally I paid a guy $50 to buff out most of the paint imperfections. I'm in mine for over $600 and I still think that it was worth it.
    - This is the nicest Sport hood I have seen anywhere, on or off a 4Runner. The paint is phenomenal for being 15 years old - hell, it would be superb condition for being 5 years old. There are a few barely noticeable imperfections in the paint. There is some "bug juice" that I couldn't wipe off, but I know will buff out. More than likely the new owner of this Sport hood will be replacing a flat hood that doesn't have paint nearly this nice.
    - This hood makes perfect sense for a highly detail-oriented Millennium Silver owner who will install this hood and transform his 4Runner. For someone less particular this hood probably wouldn't be worth the price.

I can drive 30 minutes in any direction from B-CS to meet someone. This hood makes more sense to sell locally, so no shipping requests please.

    $395 PayPal or cash accepted.

    Thanks,

    Greg

Please call or text me to purchase (24 hours - I'm single and I don't care) - I have a full-time job and am not always on this forum. The first person who contacts me on my cell and pays gets the hood. I may not answer your PM if I'm not on the computer, but I always have my cell phone with me.

Notes on Photos: The first photo is from the back of my 4Runner just after the hood was loaded. I was actually taking the photo to show someone a pic of the rubber cupholder insert (rubber insert already sold). The hood has not even been wiped down in this first photo. For the rest of the photos I wiped down everything with a wet microfiber towel and then wiped it dry. That is all I did (5 minutes total) before taking the photos.

CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW THIS HOOD WOULD LOOK AFTER A PROFESSIONAL DETAILER SPENT SOME TIME WITH IT?

This silver sport hood is just what I'm looking for. Too bad it's in Texas. :( probably sold by now too.
