Tire Width

I have a 2019 4Runner TRD Pro Off Road. I'm replacing the original wheels/tires with Black Rhino Bantam wheels 17x8.5". What is the largest tire I can put on it without having to modify any of my underpinnings?

 

It's going to depend on the wheel offset. Generally, a 275/70/17 is about as big as you can get without rubbing. But, even those can rub.

I'm running stock size KO2's on 17×9 wheels with a -6mm offset, and I rub while braking and turning. I'm just rubbing the plastic fender liner, though.

What is your offset?

4.36 backspacing

I think you're going to have some rubbing with that offset even with stock size tires.

Chances are you can get away with a 275 by adjusting the fender liners and possibly removing the mud flaps.

Anything bigger and you might have to do some cutting, and possibly a cab mount chop.

I'm sure others will be able to correct me if I'm wrong.
