What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Anything older than 1975? especially a 68-72 Chevelle, Malibu, or Nova ? Anyone that has 14 cars should have one of these LOL

 

Upgrading all my interior lights to led. Then installing the XD 5K HIDs right after.

 

Did you buy a kit for the interior or just get the necessary bulbs needed (if a kit, please post a link)? Also, can I please get a pics of just your headlights from the drivers position. I would like to find a temp/color that will match my OEM led fogs.

Many of the bulb kits from online sellers come with poor quality bulbs. Don’t do it.

Buy Sylvania Zevo bulbs locally at the auto parts stores or buy Philips Ultinon LED’s on Amazon. There are bulb numbers readily available on the forum if you need them. Most of the interior bulbs are 168/194’s. The dome (I think) is a 31mm festoon.

The Philips and Sylvania interior (and license plate) bulbs are top notch quality. Trust me. Don’t buy a kit. Get Philips or Sylvania Bulbs individually and be done with it. You’ll be good to go.

They’re plenty bright and they won’t fail or throw codes. Sure, there are some random sellers offering super bright bulbs and they mostly work. But if you want them to for sure work (and be plenty bright and last a long time), get the Sylvania or Philips.

No skin in the game here. But all LED’s are not the same. Sylvania and Philips are making good ones.

 

The 5k is very close to oem hids. Not blue not and orange like stock.

I had this shot with GTR ultra 2. They are 6k with oem fogs. Picture does not give true color, in person the OEM fogs were a clear beam vs scattered led head light and looked whiter then the gtr bulb. Could be optics playing games with the eyes picking up the parking light color?

 

I have the fire flys led bulbs from Amazon. Had them in my 17 Pro. Very good reviews and worth the price not that much. Left them in my 17 and now have them in my 2020 Pro. These are just for the interior.

I have the fireflys as well and the quality is great. I got the brighter/ more expensive, of the 2 different kits he had and have had no issues at all so far.

Replaced the front diff driver's side needle bearing with the ECGS bushing.

Also washed the 4Runner.

Was a productive day.

Just informing everyone else posting about lighting that their posts would be better in the lighting section and keep this one for people that actually have done something to their 5th gen today. I know I'm being petty about it but lately there seems to be more posts about lighting in this thread than in the actual lighting thread. We come to this thread to find out what people have done to their rides not reviews on lights or new lights that are coming out next week or whatever. Crying over.

Rotated tires (5th wheel added 1st time)
Changed front & rear diffs and transfer case @ 20,200. Rear and tcase looked great. My front was dark and had a ton of shavings on the magnet
Used all Royal Purple all in all very easy to do; front diff a bit of a pain

 

Changed the door lights to amber 2827 bulbs.

Actually I should have posted there only but knew if would not get out to people that don't follow that.

 

I finally ordered Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's. I got 265/70R17 size. A lot cheaper and lighter in weight than the 275's and just a little shorter, same width. Can't wait to get them installed, probably early next week. Pics to come.

 

Got a new dent yesterday by someone who it hit my 4 Runner in a parking lot......

I have yet to get my dash cam in, but the guy did leave a note ( I was SHOCKED) I did file a claim with his insurance last night.Now to see what Allstate says, I want a new bumper assembly as mine is now gouged. I think I am in for a fight with them over this I will just file a claim with my insurance get a new bumper and let them fight it out....
