Anyone ever have their KDSS system serviced? I had a lift installed, 6112's, 5160's, Icon 2 inch rear springs. After picking up the runner I got a KDSS dash light. Called the shop and they said to come by the next day.

When I got home that night I can see the truck leaning from passenger to driver. So I went around and measured from the floor to center on the wheel well. The fronts were set at 2 1/2 and 2" rear springs. The driver side followed those measurements but passenger side went up 3 1/2 in front and 3" in the rear.

So I bring it in and they tried the leveling TSB, no good. They said they had to take it to the dealer. Went to pick it up last night and it wasn't ready, dealer still had it. The manager where I had the lift done actually gave me his truck to drive home. Told me to come back tomorrow (today). Just called them and they said the dealer doesn't even have the tool to bleed the system. They are trying to locate one. They are supposed to call back the shop in an hour. I was remaining calm, but can feel my blood pressure climbing rapidly. The Runner had 1400 miles on it when I brought it to them.

    Anyone had their KDSS serviced?

Sounds like they touched the KDSS lines when installing lift which doesn't need to happen.

Never had it serviced but good luck. Dealer might send a bill just FYI.

Install shop knows it's on their dime. Just pissed that I have been without my truck for 3 days now.

Think it involved making sure no more air in the KDSS.

But not all dealers even had to tools for it.

I understand the frustration... I've been in rental cars for a week now over the dealership screwing up a simple oil change... Stripping the bolt out... Then chipping the paint on my door... Then chipping it again while putting it back together after repainting it... I wish I was making that up.

Was supposed to get a call with an update 2 hours ago... Nothing.

Good luck on your end. Hopefully you're driving something better than this crappy base Nissan frontier that I got...

Damn that's a string of bad luck! Right now I have the service managers F-150 with 6" lift. Thing sucks gas. Not fun as a daily driver either.

Better than a Yaris. Hopefully they get it fixed right for you.

So they dealer located the tool yesterday afternoon. I was like great, how long for them to charge the system. They said it should be done by 6, but we close at 5:30 so we should have it for you early morning. Fast forward to now, dealer now claims it will be ready by 5 tonight.... I said WTF are they doing the bleed and charge procedure shouldn't take more then an hour or two. Told the shop they need to rent me a new 4Runner as I am going camping and not taking the gas guzzling F-150, it rides like crap and I don't plan on driving 200 miles in it. The shop said they will check on the status at 4 and get me a rental if it's not ready. Why is this shit so hard?

My guess is that they got the tool now but no one to do it, maybe they still try to find a “how to do...” video on YouTube!

Yeah I downloaded the bleed procedure, not much to it. Any competent wrench should be able to do it.

“Competent” is the keyword, I know there is a lot of really good ones out there but unfortunately there is as well a huge amount of mechanics that can’t even change the oil without screwing something up.

Man I feel you and i hope you got your baby back soon with all been fixed

Happy update. Called my shop and they were just pulling up with my baby. They said they got hosed by the dealer, but are happy that they could make everything all right by me. The side to side is 1/8" which is even better then my wife's stock runner. Shop said they think that the Toyota wrenches were learning on the fly as they were billed 9 hours. The procedure is just like bleeding brakes... The manager even said they probably won't do any KDSS equipped vehicles that aren't at least 2 years old as they don't have the software to clear faults on the new 2020s. Anyway they are happy that I am happy and no idiot lights on the dash!

Glad to hear it's been resolved!

I'll definitely take this into consideration before I do any suspension work.

I’m glad you’re on the road again or should I say off the road?
