I saw a post about this a few years back, but still wanted some thoughts/expereinces.

I have a 2017 4runner SR5 - got it in September, and am pretty happy with it over all.

I was driving in the snow in 2Hi, and went around a corner and the traction control came on - and also the flashing 4Low light with it. I went to get gas and it didn't come on again when I started the car back up.

I talked to Toyota, and they said "does 4WD still work?" - it does I have tested 4Hi and 4Lo - no problem getting it in or out, and no flashing lights.. so the guys basically said - "don't worry about it".

Sadly, I am a worrier.... and I now have nightmares about being 10 clicks into the woods on a snowy day, and not being able to get into 4WD and having to abandon the truck...

Anyone had 4Lo come on flashing, and anyone have a conclusion as to why? the answer to the other forum question seemed to be a drive selection sensor. Anyone ever been stuck when it wouldn't let you get into 4WD mode?

    thanks,

    Tom

I am just throwing this out there, maybe when you lost traction it was telling you to go to 4 wheel drive.:llama:
