Just bought a 2019 Limited 4Runner, and want to pull 3500 lb trailer (empty). Other than 10mpg, and struggling up mountains, will it do it?

    Yes.

As long as you're patient, the 4runner should handle it just fine.

Your best bet is to tow in S4 and keep the speed reasonable. If it's a large trailer, the wind resistance at higher speeds will make your engine and transmission work extra hard.

If you'll be towing the trailer on a regular basis, a transmission cooler might be a good investment.

    Welcome to the forum!

I know enough that it’s not the amount it’s how it’s loaded. If not distributed right you can jack knife.....
