Just have a question a fifth gen owner may be able to answer... I've passed the same fifth gen on my way home the last two evenings and it is ginormous. I drive a full-size Ford with an 8" lift on 37s and this 4runner is just about as tall as my rig. It's not solid axled, and I'm just curious about how much lift is obtainable (suspension lifts) on a fifth gen. If I get a chance I will definitely try to figure out more about this 4runner because it is definitely different than any other I've seen.

The white one isn't mine, it's a buddies. I think it's pretty cool with the dually bed. It's on 42x15.5x20s

I'm doing the rebuild myself. I never protected or cleaned the rods much, so I have some pitting and corrosion from the Florida lime and clay. They get blasted with debris on the hwy too. My rear rod ends got beat up on some rocks out in AZ as well. So doing the rear rod ends, seals and retainers, new rods, and uniballs in the ends. Gonna run these boots on the rears this time to see if they can add some protection. https://www.procompusa.com/suspension-product-details.aspx?pt=4139&pl=1848&partno=EXP12147

I knew that answer was coming. Who makes the biggest lift kit for a 5th gen for runner? Biggest I have seen was a 4" just wondering if anyone makes a kit bigger

Also if we're giving smart ass answers I specifically said it was not solid axled....

My tent has power running to it via a cord I plug into a 12 V outlet. The problem was it only had a led light it powered. I just got done splicing in a sae plug to the existing wiring in the tent and then building this box. Went to the depot and found this outside plug cover to use as the box. Turned out great! Everything works and now I can power my heated blanket and charge my phone while sleeping.

Afaik, 3" with 33/34" tires might be most common. I don't know why, but the 4Runner looks way bigger with a lift compared to a Tacoma with the same lift/tire size.

I found this picture. It makes the 4runner look a lot more lifted than I think it is. Wow, would that be a fun rig!

Just curious with a leveling kit, just how big can you go tire wise without rubbing in flex or lock to lock? Either way tires gonna cost a mini fortune with the 20s that came on the gunner package.

It wasn't a smart ass answer.

You said the truck you saw wasn't a solid axle. You didn't say a solid axle wasn't an option for you.

But why not do a solid axle conversion and jack it up as high as you want, if that's your prerogative? It would be more functional than trying to max out the IFS A-arm geometry.

I'm on my third solid axle pickup I've built. I understand that anything is possible with money and changing suspension. I stated the truck 4runner was still IFS and then you post a pic of a solid axle rig. I was just curious if anyone made a lift kit. Sorry maybe I phrased strangely. I don't even own a fifth gen I was just curious about what suspension this guy could have been running.

I never even said I was looking for options shit I don't even own a fifth gen. Just curious about lift kit options. Thanks for you're opinion on my question. It wasn't very helpful though.

Yesterday actually. Did my first brake pad replacement on my own and first time on this 4r. Easiest job ever! Used OEM pads and it was ridiculously simple.

Yes, 1.6" setting is perfect up front with the rear at stock height. 1.75" (Bilstein 5100 setting) is dead level, so the Eibachs at 1.6" still retain a small amount of factory rake. When putting a tape measure to it and doing hub to fender measurements, I'm 1/4" higher in the rear.

Also able to fit 285's with the stock wheels, caster set to 4*, and the fender liner pushed forward. No rubbing.
