After looking at this again I decided to cut the Factory cover. It goes back on fine and It should be good. Hopefully MESO makes more covers sooooon.
I used a 1/4-20 cap screw with nut and lock washer to fasten the ground wire.

Im glad to have this mod complete.
It started with adding the A Pillar Grip handle and 1” RAM ball mount, and Finally the USB charger.

For Folks that aren’t familiar with Toyota Fuse Boxes, the small pinch tool is located in the engine bay Fuse Box. I had to loosen the back negative post and move it a tad to get the fuse box cover off.

New ditch lights mostly installed before I lost light tonight. Used the CaliforniaLED brackets and install was uneventful. Have a fair amount of deer on my nightly commute to work, so this was a needed mod...

have you tried them yet? Looks like they’re angled down pretty low. I have bajas with the low mount brackets and wish I’d have got the regular size because I lose a lot of light onto the hood

I originally wanted the low profile but Rago steered me towards the regular ones for that very reason. And I am glad I did even with my spots. I get very little glare. And they do look angled very low...

That's it?? 19mpg? I hit 41 mpg on that screen. If it's not hand calculated it doesn't mean shit. YMMV

I reset both the trip meter and the average MPG as soon as i left the tire shop with the 285s on. Glad i went with the SL tires. I expected 16.5 or so, but this WILL DO!!

Right after you reset it you can hit 99mpg if done correctly, reset right before going down a nice sized hill doing 70mph and then coast until it updates.... But then it keeps an average from the last time you reset it. I normally reset it every tank of gas and then hand calculate at the fuel pump, and they are VERY close to the same.... Now that i have bigger tires that might not be the case, but before the tire swap i was always less than .5MPG off from what the screen said, hand calculated.

ANYONE TESTED THEIR SPEEDOMETER FOR ACCURACY??

Crazy enough before the tire swap my Speedo was off about 2 MPH. I first noticed it by one of those traffic radars, it said i was doing 58 MPH and i had cruise set at 60... So i then used my GPS, and tested with 2 different phone apps and sure as shit it was off about 2mph consistently... Now that i have the bigger tires it is more accurate than ever.

Maybe Toyota realized lots of people were upping their tires so they calibrated them for bigger tires, or maybe mine was just an oddball but im not mad at it.

It's a common thing for 4Runners to be 2mph off on stock tires. 285's correct the discrepancy, as you mention.

Just have a question a fifth gen owner may be able to answer... I've passed the same fifth gen on my way home the last two evenings and it is ginormous. I drive a full-size Ford with an 8" lift on 37s and this 4runner is just about as tall as my rig. It's not solid axled, and I'm just curious about how much lift is obtainable (suspension lifts) on a fifth gen. If I get a chance I will definitely try to figure out more about this 4runner because it is definitely different than any other I've seen.

I knew that answer was coming. Who makes the biggest lift kit for a 5th gen for runner? Biggest I have seen was a 4" just wondering if anyone makes a kit bigger

Also if we're giving smart ass answers I specifically said it was not solid axled....
