Brake Upgrade - Rotors and Pads

    I have been reading alot about the mods I am making and the additional weight being added. There was a suggestion that with the additional weight we should consider upgrading the brake pads and rotors. Just for kicks and grins I went to Amazon to look at some options and found this setup by Power Stop for $380 - https://www.amazon.com/Power-K5874-...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=QW5KVVQY64P1XC73ZWEX

    I figure I will wait until I need to replace the pads and see what weight I am at and then make a decision but I haven't seen much chatter about brake mods. Thoughts on upgrading brakes?

    Great info on the Powerstops and issues/problems - thanks for the reply. As with anything on various forums - lots of different opinions on what is/isn't good - most people who head down a path don't like to admit it may not have been worth it - glad to see this post and the honest assessment. This is one of those things that after I finished my mods and increase tire size I will know fairly quickly if there is an issue with all my mountain driving or not.

    I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews on aftermarket kits. Seems the consensus is stick with OEM

    Been running the powerstop kit on my 4Runner for a few years now and no problems here and this thing will stop on a dime !
