My 2020 4 runner came with the ball mount for towing. Looks like i have to use that one for towing because of spare tire . my other one that i have not tried from my other truck appears to be longer.

I have to use the toyota shorty one? Cannot test fit other one cuse my other truck is off site far away with the home depot bought ball and mount.

    Few questions:

What is the included spacer for on the OEM toyota ball mount?

Has to be the Toyota 2" ball (need 2 inch ball) or any standard ball would do. Got a 50 percent off coupon from stealership so cost not issue. And when tightening roughly how tight? I got the 18 inch nut wrench. Good 130 pounds roughly or TIGHT TIGHT?

So confused on why the spare is in the way. Did they put a different hitch on?

No no no spare is not in the way. Toyota OEM BALL MOUNT FITS JUST FINE.
My other one from my other truck is longer but i cannot test fit it because that truk is somehwere else and its on that truk.

Has to be a toyota specific ball or any standard ball for the OEM TOYOTA BALL MOUNT?

After looking at the toyota brand ball I ordered one from amazom to same specs 6000 lbs rating one inch shank 2 1\8 shank length. Looks like I will have to use the included metal bushing. Lets see how it does the tow towing 1200 pounds.

A tip for all YOU RATTLE AND CLUNK LOVERS OUT THERE. WE ALL KNOW if you slide the square ball mount into the hitch metal on metal whethere you tow or not that thing will clunk and clak and rattle in speed bumps no trailer and clunk on rough roads. IT IS AN EPIDEMIC. Look at other trucks on road specially slow rush hour. That ball mount dancing around in the hitch.... BUGZ THE you know what out of me. No need for those clamp on things.

    Easy $1.67 fix !!!.

Wrap in 2 or 3 spots as you.insert it with black electrical tape. Might be tight fit to slide in if too much. Yes I know.... "Lets see how my 3000 trailer does against that tape..." Even if it loosens up... When you remove your trailer that ball mount is not gonna be dancing around. And when towing will make a good "cushion" when accelerating or stopping instead of the jarring effext caused by play metal on metal and it also wears out the hitch opening. BEST $1.67 mod ever. Your OCD WILL THANK YOU.

I know you said no need for 'those clamp on things', but for 13 bucks, this works perfectly.

I just leave it on my hitch, and tighten the two 19mm/3/4" nuts after I slide in the hitch. Takes all of about 30 more seconds. No rattle, no tape needed.

Tiny 5.7 inch screen. not yelling. Caps LOCk gets pressed by accident. So random caps just means fat fingers and not gonna backspace it and retype it.

Same here. I just choose to use the clamp when using the ball.

Another cheep fix is to tap a wooden shim along the top of the hitch into receiver. Leave a couple inches extra so, if it loosens due to compression of the wood, you can just tap it in further. They’re reusable and van be purchased at any home improvement store. They’re also handy for starting campfires and leveling that wobbly camp chair or portable table.

I never notice any noise from mine. And, I usually remove it unless I'm planning on hooking up a trailer again soon.

Also, I am too spoiled to use $1.67 electrical tape. It's super 33, 35, 88, or nothing. Try some and you'll never use the cheap stuff again!

I use cheap stuff on square hitch since it gets smashed. I only use 3m good stuff when electrical tape is called for.

I am a solder, heat shrink, zip ties and foam when needed type of guy.
