I have been searching and searching on here and the other forum and could not find a solid answer.

i have been recommended by a vendor to run 6112 up front and icon 2.0 with or without reservoirs in the rear instead of 5160.

since both are digressive valving, was told that the benefits are:

icon 2.0 has longer travel than the 5160s
    better valving than 5160s
can take a taller spring to lift than 5160s

pricing is better for the non-resi icon 2.0s and just a little bit more for the resi ones compared to the 5160s.

if anybody has any experience or thoughts on this, your comments are appreciated

I would not say they are better valved, dampeners should be valved to match whatever spring is used. Neither one is going be valved to match whatever springs you run.

But as you said, digressive valving on both and if the Icon are extended travel, then I’d go for it. You’re certainly not going to hurt anything.

    thanks!

have you had any personal experience with either shocks?

in regards if the Icon 2.0s are longer/give you more travel than the 5160s...i couldnt find any solid proof this is the case. hope someone who runs them can chime in

No, I went with extended travel Kings customs length and custom valved for my setup. Get measurements of the shock body and fully extended shock lengths, that’s will tell you which has more length.

thank you! custom length kings are the way to go! how are you liking the ride and performance of your set-up so far.

was thinking about kings via filthy motorsports or accutune foxs but i dont have the funds to commit to them at the moment :(
