Has anyone had any experience doing a full or partial clear body wrap to prevent pin striping?

I believe @4Runner fun has his Xpel wrapped. I think he was happy with it the last I heard.

Here's a thread with some discussion about wraps and Ceramic coating.

Also, I hosted a camping trip and trail run last month. One of the guys had his truck ceramic coated. After hitting the trails, we were able to wipe off marks that would have left scratches on my truck. I was quite impressed! I intend to get mine ceramic coated next spring.

The wraps are supposed to be tougher than Ceramic coating, but they are more expensive (I think)

    Thanks James,
Yes we did. Xpel ultimate wrap. Full front (with pillars), mirrors doors & rear bumper
Post 64 & 65 are full of info. It wasn't cheap. The truck is currently filthy & will hand wash a black T4R in about an hour tomorrow as it just sheds dirt with the reset shampoo.
We have a few imperfections that need to be addressed but we would do it over again.
Let us know of any questions.
    Good luck,
    Ryan

I did not do my 4runner Pro but my new 19 Z06 I
Had the whole car done with ceramic coat. I would do it again. If you are doing a new 4Runner I would at least get the whole front nose done. The Toyota paint chips easy. My 17 is not bad because I don’t ride close to people. But if I trade in for the 2020 I will probably get the front end done.

I ceramic coat most of my cars and xpel the nose. It's expensive to do the whole car, part of me wishes I had though. I have to buff and ceramic coat the truck every year to get the scratches out

Thanks for the feedback, The sides are what gets the worst in the NW. I like to go remote to fly fishing. Torn with brand new rig and hear the branches. I figured sides up to the roof line and front end. My 72' Scout having pin strips was a badge of honor and added character. 2019 4 runner, not so much.
