Bad idea. 2.75" up front and 1" in the back is going to leave you with significant negative rake. If you go 2.75" up front, you need at least 2" out back to sit level.

As for tires, great choice and IMO go with the 285/70/17

I think 16s would fit the rear of the 5th gen 4Runner. I wonder if one could take the front brakes from a Tacoma and swap them into the 4Runner. Of course, no one would recommend downgrading brakes to fit a set of wheels though.

What size tires did you get? I just looked at Walmart's web site, and it say that the stock size authorities are nearly 51#. That's definitely going to lower your fuel economy, especially in the city, and especially if you're a leadfoot.

Aside from that, the roof rack will lower your highway mileage, especially above 65-70 MPH.

Try taking it easy on the gas, and keeping it below 70, and see if it helps.

I'm the same way. I want all of the goodies, but it's going to be hard seeing my mileage go into the crapper. Some will say that I shouldn't drive a 4runner if I care about mileage. But, I drive a lot, so I will try to get the best mileage I can.

Aside from the cost, I drive to Florida every winter, 1400 miles each way. I like to drive until I need fuel before stopping. Every stop adds 20-30 minutes to the trip. I like to keep the stops to a minimum.

When I first purchased them I was speaking with them (don't remember who) through Facebook and they said it all depends on the application. But you are right...I will probably give them a call on Monday.

I agree with you a 110% because they have it written on their webpage and when I contacted them we spoke about it. So the noise was known prior to me purchasing. I did find over the last couple of days that the winder the day the louder the noise.

Started early this morning. Technically did this on the 4 since the tent is now part of it. Moved the tent back to try and see if that reduces some wind noise. Took the plastic off the matress and put the new sheets on. Made the bed. An then took care of the gaudy Eezi-awn badging on the back. Tried the peel coat as recommended by @Allaboutfamily . It works good. Will see how long it lasts but it looks so much better IMOIMG_20190928_095052559_HDR.jpg IMG_20190928_100538236_HDR.jpg IMG_20190928_101149411_HDR.jpg

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
The only exhaust I've heard for our trucks that doesn't sound ricey or raspy is Borla. I and my son put a Borla 40665 muffler on ours. Sound is great, no drone at all at any speed and a noticeable increase in power. Here's a link to my install post #5838. Well worth the $100 I paid for it and the work to install it.https://www.4runners.com/threads/wh...h-gen-4runner-today.2261/page-195#post-103047

I was a bit worried about it sitting level but there's tons of guys/girls running this kit on the other forum and saying they sit pretty level. 65 pages of happy people on the other forum... Several people have switched from bilsteins and said this kit is much better.. Hopefully it looks level.

I have looked at hundreds of pictures and all look good except for the ones that put the front shocks on the higher setting. But ill prolly still be concerned until the lift gets done.

You will not sit level at 2.75 - 1 I guarantee you that. I was at 3" front 2" rear and sat barely level. I'm now at 2.5 front 2 rear and have a super slight rake. Factory sits .75 lower in the front than the rear. TRD Pro is .75 higher in the front over the SR5 and has no factory rake for this reason. Just be prepared to swap out the rear for more lift.

My measurements show my rear sits just over 1 inch higher than the front, still i understand what you are saying thats why i did so much reading on the kit. I hate the "squatted" look with the front sitting noticeably higher.

But i cant understand how all the pictures from everyone with this kit shows a practically level T4R... Unless you actually get less than the advertised 2.75 in the front or more than 1 in the rear. People discuss this in the eibach thread several times and say stuff like...

"I think the discrepancy lies how the companies take their level measurements.

If you put a level on the frame rail, then the Toytech 3/2 will be level. However, even with this lift, the 4Runner still has design cues that make it look like it has factory rake. Front fenders will still be lower than the rears, the window lines will slope down from the rear to the front, ect....

If you measure from the center of your hubs to the bottom of your fender, then the Eibach lift will give you an even measurement both front and back, making the truck appear level in stance."

"I was skeptical about looking butt-saggy when I bought the kit, but after installation, I think it makes the truck look perfect. Even if the frame is level, the body still appears to have a slight rake at both the roofline and fenders. "

"So far, I would highly suggest if you’re looking for a good ride, slight lift & level. You only need what comes in the kit, no diff drop or anything else."

"No reverse rake. Its a little higher in the rear. "

And loads of other posts as well basically saying the same thing... It looks level, it sits practically level, the rear is a bit higher? and so on... Which is hard for my brain to digest LOL

Worse case scenario it would be easy to add a small spacer to the rear later i guess.

Here's an example for you. This is my 2016 when I was at 3" up front, 2.75" in the back. Sits pretty level to me. This is the ToyTec ultimate kit with a 3/4" cornfed spacer added to the back because using just their 2" coils in the back with the front adjusted to 3" left me with negative rake.

The trd system does not sound rice. People are complaining about it saying drone. I suppose if you floor it on the highway it might do that but ran mine up to 80 last night and was still fine. The runner is not a race car and never meant to be. Perhaps the haters drive like an indy driver and expect 60s muscle car sound. Me, I drive conservative and the trd system makes this old man happy with the little rumble and not overbearing noise others seem to get.

I went with the stock size in an E-rated LT due to all of the towing I do.

Had the Wildpeaks in my cart on Amazon, but went with the Goodyear Authority for the higher load rating.

I have heard that some put the Bilstein adjustables at 1.75 in front with the stock back and say it is level... that would be essentially the same thing as what you’re talking about.. just add an inch to the front and back.. that’s being said I am currently at 1.75 in front on adjustable bilsteins with small spacers in back and I can’t imagine not having those as I think I would have a little negative rake without them, or at the very least as soon as I had a little weight back there, then it would look like it was sagging... you may want to think about at least 1/4 inch spacers in back ...

Yeah man if it sits noticeably nose high i will definitely add rear spacers. First i will install the kit and give it a couple weeks to make sure everything is settled in pretty well... Then i will see how it looks and take some measurements... If its only 1/2 inch or so higher in the front i prolly wont bother, im not full OCD about it, but if its more than an inch i will certainly correct it.

Just finished installing the OEM fog lights. Easy enough to do, I’ll be thrilled to have more light. Now I need to upgrade the headlights.

Just curious... Why do people hide their license plates online? its visible to every stranger you drive by, local strangers, the ones more likely to rob you, steal your ride, or follow you home to steal your accessories.

I don’t think a plate can give you much return info besides address and name. That information is everywhere. You can find anyone’s address and name off internet sites. I doubt they would benefit much from a plate.

The thieves smart enough to get that much personal info from a plate... Don't even need your plate. They can get the same info from your IP address that you surf the internet with.

If thieves were using plate numbers they'd most likely just walk outside and start writing down local plate numbers... So much easier than searching through hundreds of pages on forums..

I got no issues with people hiding their plates... I was genuinely just curious... If doing so makes people feel safer then more power to them...

But i don't try and hide mine... A thief smart enough to find out all of my info will only be disappointed by my credit score and bank account :D

It just limits exposure of your info online. In fact, license plate privacy might be more important online than in person. Many of us show off mods and such on these forums. And being most of us have the same vehicle, a dishonest person with the same vehicle sort of has a list of who has what here. Your vehicle being seen at the store is random and probably seen less than online. I suppose a skilled person may get the info they want regardless, but why make it easier for less skilled people?
