I'm going to be changing out the pads and turning the discs on my '16 TP.
This is a question about the brake fluid. When compressing the pistons back into the calipers, is it better to loosen the bleeder or force the fluid back into the M/C res.
IIRC, years ago when ABS first came around, it was a no no to force the fluid back to the res.
Is this still true? I've seen some recent videos and they don't loosen the bleeder screw.
    TIA

I just use one side of the pad and force um back same time. I never did the 4R so not sure if it has more than one piston.

    Without opening the bleeder.

Update. I didn't change the pads or turn the discs. It wasn't as bad as I was told after I removed the tires and looked myself.
And at 53,000 mi. there is a lot left to play with.
I'm more of a, look ahead, ease up on the gas and down shift kinda driver.
I still wish that it was a manual trans though.
    Thanks guys.

Question on why you thought they needed to be changed in the first place?

Just a guess on the mileage?

    Haha go figure.

I'd ask you for a dealer name too but you might be scared to share for your family's welfare. (Just kidding)

The "dealer scare tactics" term was really not the term I should have used.
I should have used, young (man and new) service writer tries to up sell the old man.
In the past, at the same dealer, I like to flirt with the young (lady) service writers.
They know I'm an old gear head and only write up what's needed and required.
And I deal with Ontario Toyota, San Bernardino Toyota and recently, Lithia Toyota in Missoula MT.
