Two challenging parts; pulling wires through the liftgate (not impossible, just tough and takes multiple tries) and the instructions (now that I journaled the entire process, that's no longer a challenge for you!). I haven't installed the foot sensor yet but all the other features are pretty sweet. Very happy with the product and I've had it in for about 3 weeks now.

LOL. Trading trucks might be tough! :)

Yeah to be honest, I wasn't sure about the company at first because I never heard of them. But when I ordered the kit, I inspected all of the parts that came and they all seemed heavy duty and high quality. I've had it installed for about 3 weeks now and it's perfect. The company is based out of Hong Kong (I believe) and I didn't get the special pricing but I think it's $499 (no sales tax because it's an online purchase) and free shipping. So that's a pretty darn good deal.

If you get it, just refer to my article when you go to install it. The instructions that come with their kit aren't the best and a lot of the pictures are of a RAV-4, not a 4Runner. My article covers the entire installation process and more efficiently than theirs.

I'm looking at getting a remote start installed, where you press the button on the key fob. I'm curious if this would interfere as it looks like it also uses the lock button to activate. Thoughts?

Funny you ask. The open/close functionality on the liftgate relies solely on the UNLOCK button. I have a remote start too but that utilizes the LOCK button and does not interfere with this kit.

Do you have your key set to roll down the windows? Just curious how this all works together.
    Thanks.

    I do not.

    To use this kit:
-Press unlock 3x’s on the keyfob to open/close the liftgate
-Press the in-dash button 2x’s to open/close the liftgate (or just a long hold to open and close)
-Open the liftgate using the unlock button under the 4Runner emblem on the liftgate and it will open up automatically from there
-Press the button on the liftgate to close

To show you that you can run the wire through the grommet without out cutting. So it is likely you can do it. Will look more professional.

This is where I put my button for the liftgate. This way it won't get wet. And if anything happens all I would have to do is replace plastic then repair metal.

20190704_075449.jpg This is where I put the switch and all I need to do is hit the button once and opens. No need to hit it twice or a long push.

I'm still waiting to install the foot sensor as well. I pre-ran a wire up in the headliner while I ran the others in the liftgate. This way I wouldn't have to open everything back up.

Nice work @Braves95 !!! I considered doing installing the rear gate push button in the plastic vs. the metal itself but I just liked the look better. I believe the button itself is waterproof but I applied some silicone to the back side to proven water from getting inside the liftgate.

    Post some videos!

    Well done sir!

I will ask, you have it setup for the switch to only be pressed once, I have read everywhere it is a double tap to engage. Did you modify something or request specifically that?

Also, love the folding mirrors did you do the KTJO4x4 preorder too? I am still waiting on mine so pretty stoked about getting those soon.

The switch came that way. I changed nothing.

Yes they are @KTJO 4x4 Kit. I was her tester from the Tacoma site.

Looks like Autoease just updated their manual for the new model of the lift. I got an email with the new manual this morning. See attached file.

definitely tempting. i had a power liftgate on a couple cars and got spoiled. but this one is also kind of heavy and awkward for me to open and close. because i'm a midget...
