I am looking for a struts and shocks assembly that will make the ride more heavy duty and o and will be able to go to easy trails but will not lift the car. Anyone have any recommendations?

Bilstein 5100's or Eibach adjustable struts both have settings that allow you to adjust them to stock ride height. You can keep the stock coils, or change them out to an aftermarket heavier spring rate if that's what you're after.

To add to what he said ^^ check out the Bilstein 4600’s. The are valved more for towing and weight. But IMHO heavy duty and off-roading usually don’t go hand in hand. And by heavy duty I mean and assume you mean towing and weight in the rear?? But as far as durability 5100 or Eibach are solid choices. And the only reason I bring this up is because I had 4600s and 5100s in the rear of my 2003 Taco. And even though they are alleged valved the same...I felt the 4600s rode better and provided a bit more stable ride with weight in the bed (ATV mainly-600 pounds). Unloaded the 5100s were better. Nothing drastic but noticeable.

Will this be for accommodating weight that you'll be carrying/towing or is this more for offroad performance? Because as Oey stated above, the applications would be very different.

If you're carrying weight constantly or towing, you'll want new springs with a heavier spring rate than stock.

If this is for offroad performance, then new struts in the front and shocks in the back will work just fine with the stock coils.

I put the Bilstein 4600s on my 2002 stock at the time, and they were very good on road, and not bad for light off road. Then i wanted a lift so went with the 5100s for a 2” lift, and was happy with that also.

It's more for driving a little off road and going camping with a truck full of people. Also it's my daily driver so would be good to be stable smooth on the road, especially with the supercharger giving so much power for speed.

If you can replace the suspension components yourself, it would be cheaper to try a set of firmer shock first. Something like the Bilstein 5100. If that isn't firm enough for you, then you could install coils with a higher spring rate later.

If you're having someone else put these on, it would be cheaper to have someone do all the labor at once. You'll have to make a choice on how much weight you usually carry and how much higher to increase your spring rate. A reputable shop can steer you in the right direction when it comes to finding the right spring rate for the weight you carry.

    Okay. Awesome. Ordered the 5100.
We can do the work at home with my freind. We fix cars all the time. Swap engines and so on.
I saw yesterday that the top part where the spring goes into is all dried up and cracked. Anyone know what it's called to replace all those when replacing the shock?
