Upgraded the stereo in a 2001 f-350, the new stereo had a rear USB port. Used this adapter to place the rear USB port to the front dash, tested it, and worked well to charge my phone and connect it to the new stereo. Took some time to cut out the hole to make it fit right but once all is said and done almost looks OEM.

I used this panel mount for a project to install a USB outlet in my overhead console to power my dash cam. I was tired of having the cord hang down. I also bought an adapter to connect this to existing power lines in the headliner - I think they were for the compass.

I had a stepped drill bit to drill the panel in a spot near the windshield with enough clearance behind the panel to accommodate the depth of this outlet. The only struggle I had was that I had to cut tiny slots in the sides of the hole to allow the ears on the side of the outlet to slide in.

After all that, I connected a 1-ft USB cord to my dash cam and plugged it in. It all works great and looks clean. I'd buy this again for this project. If I could change anything, I'd ask for a shorter cord and I'd love to have one of these in tan to match the headliner. The black stands out, but otherwise it's a clean install.
