Sherpa Crestone w/OVS Nomadic 180 Awning

OVS mounting bracket attached to a Sherpa Crestone roof rack. The brackets are top quality but they are too wide for the Crestone cross rail and the T-Nuts mounting system do not work with hardware supplied by OVS which required that I purchase bolts. Sherpa Crestone's T-Nut mounting system sucks

      Hi there BoiseG. Do you happen to recall the size of the nuts and bolts you used? Especially the length of the bolts. Also are you screwing the bolts into a hex nut? I am trying to do the same thing, e.g. mount the OVS 180 awing to my Sherpa Crestone roof rack.

      @Carl4rtx The size bolts are 1/4-20, but I can't recall the length, sorry. Sherpa's racks use a type of nut called a "T-Nut". It's a half round shaped nut that fits into the channel and you screw the bolt into the T-Nut. Sherpa sells T-Nuts on their website.

      @BoiseG Thank you. Yes the 1/4-20 about 3/4" long seems to work with the roll-in t-nuts. Those t-nuts were more expensive than I thought they would be.... Thanks again.

      @Carl4rtx Yeah honestly if I knew about the T-Nuts and how expensive they are before buying the Sherpa, I would not have bought the Sherpa, I would have gone with something else. Oh well, le$$on$ learned.
