I took the plunge and ordered a rear bumper for my 5th gen through Expedition One. They have a really great staff. Spoke with Roger who was super helpful. Lead times are a little long but i feel their design and latch system is worth the wait. Going to have Joe at Outgear Solutions take care of the install after the bumper is powdercoated at Maverick powdercoating. Let the wait begin. Will definitely post photos after it's installed.

    Good for you.

I really like their NON swing out version. I'd like to get bumpers for my Runner (front and rear) at some point. So far the ONLY thing I have damaged is the bottom of the rear plastic bumper. Metal is more betterer. : -)

Still waiting. Been 8 weeks so far. They say 9-12 weeks so we are getting close to delivery. I have some suspension changes coming as well. Stay tuned.

It is a very solid bumper and worth the wait.. I ordered the single swing out as well. My powdercoat was finished up yesterday... Probably picking up tomorrow. Will post pics after everything is all buttoned up as a teaser :p

Did you opt for the rear camera relocation kit? I'm not a huge fan of there's so I'm going to come up with something else.

And no, I didn’t opt for the relocation kit. It is ugly and protrudes out wayyy too much and will be a limiting factor when you open the hatch in tight spaces. Let me know what you come up with. Also what are you doing with your license plate? I need to figure that out too.

I've had the Expedition One dual swing out bumper installed on my 5th Gen since Jan 2018.

I have the single swing out and love it. I agree the latch system is the best around and the bumper over laps the rear fender so looks super clean.

Nice color match on the bumper. The tire mount looks odd compared to 'Terrain Runner's mount, is there another piece not pictured?
Did you go with the camera mount option as well?

Thank you, it looks much better matched in person, lighting was really throwing it off.
I opted not to do camera relocation, I'll come up with a Wrangler method... I didn't like the expedition one relocation mount. I think his looks differently because it's barely visible, once I get my spare on mine will be barely visible as well. I opted for silver because it matches a lot of the little trim pieces on the limited edition.

Ok thx. I am going with icon 3” overland spring in the rear to compensate for the added weight. Any noticeable change in driving?

Ya if you like your current ride hide you'll definitely have to figure for the added weight. I'm dead even now,and had approx 1"-1.25" of rake depending on which side I measured prior to adding the bumper.

I'd be lying if I said it still rides the same, I've only driven my 4runner for like 500 miles this entire year lol. That's going to change now for sure though seeing as it's camping season! For the most part though it's easy fore to tell because my wife immediately complains lol .. she did not complain about it being on there so I'd say probably no difference.

Any updates with expedition? Their new dual swing looks sweet, Im looking for a coupon code or something to bring the package price down a bit, anyone have one? or other connections?

I've also been looking at the dual swingout; how do you like it? I've got the 2020 T4R ORP and NEED a rear bumper. EXP 1 looks to be a very well put together bumper but is it worth the $$$$? I'm bouncing it off the C4 and CBI dual swingouts.

It's worth it if you wanna pay for it. I don't know what the current price is, but I've been happy with this since I installed it. I have a spare 34" tire and tables on one swingout, on the other I have a ladder, Hi-Lift jack mount and Rotopax mounts. They open super easy and you can open them up in a parking lot with cars on both sides.

How far do the swing outs go? I have a camp kitchen that extends out on the passenger side almost 6 feet.
