Like the title says, let's see those sliders. I'll try and get a running list and some pics together. Don't forget to add the Fabricator, and details.

Ended up swapping out the Sliders in favor of the Mobtown Offroad Bolt-On sliders.

These will be my choice very soon!
Every product they have is impeccable.
The next mod will be their 3/4 rack due to sunroof.

    That is great to hear.
There are a lot of cheaper options. It appears these will last! These (sliders) have jack point and everything.
Lights for nighttime rain or night rocks!
Do I powder coat or linex then?
Or do I rattle can them and redo them yearly... A whole other problem! Lol

I'm not a fan of all the prep, prime, and paint work for sliders. But definitely did not wanna drop cash on powder coating for sliders since they were gonna get beat up.

Why I ask about Linex. Has anyone done it? Does it withstand for any longer than powder coating?
Or is the hassle of taking them off & painting them every few years is the best option.
    I am just learning...

I've heard that Linex or powder coat will scrape right off if you actually use them for rocks. It sounded like spray paint or epoxy primer are popular options, and easy to touch up.

I went with powder coat because it was not very expensive and I don't do any serious rock-crawling at this point.

Anyone know what the cost of re-powder coating the slides would cost?
If it is a (baked bond) can it be stripped (easily) & re coated every few years?
I am asking vendors here. This isn't product specific. It is slider maintenance of any brands.
Thanks in advance to all that respond.

Typically you’d wanna get them media blasted prior to re-coating, which can get up there in price. I just put a new set on our 4runner, however I’ve had the same set of sliders on my Tacoma and remove them once a year for a touch up with the old rattle can.

As far a cost, really depends on the availability of those services in your area.

Any reputable place will probably require you to media blast them and will probably have already built into their price. The place that did my wheels blasted and coated the wheels for $75 each (not including center caps). I would think $200-250 would be a reasonable price for the sliders.

Then again not to sound like a broken record...but $60 for a case of SEM Trim Black and you can do it yourself in a few hours. Not much prep needed except for a good cleaning with Dawn and some non diluted Simple Green. Give it a good rinsing, let air dry, and start painting. No primer needed. A very durable acrylic paint.

We offer line-x as an option for all of our armor. It's a great coating and can take some abuse. Line-x will hold up great for a while but will eventually start to peel away lust like any other coating. How long does it take depends on how much you bash and drag them across rocks. On bumpers and stuff it holds up really well. It takes a lot to get it to start peeling.

All depends on the area and what they have to do to get it ready to PC again. Remember this is still a painting process so to speak. So all the $$$$ is in the prep work. But I would suspect anywhere from 100-200 more than sending a PC company something in the white that large.

I would not use simple green or dawn in your prep they can leave a residu. Acetone after a light scuff with a scothbrite pad then paint and primer of your choice.

For sure depending what kind of paint you're using and what kind of finish you're going for. For items like this, trim work, or roof racks it's just fine. This paint with those prep procedures works perfectly. Though I wouldn't fault anyone for prepping even more.

I'm not much for prep work myself personally. If it's got a little flash rust oh well that's what krylon rusty metal primer is for. Then it's blast it with some cheap rustoleum flat black. But when people ask I tend to tell them the "best" practice. For my stuff I know I'm just going to bang it up and scratch it up wheeling so not going to invest that much time and effort into a ton of prep work for it to be scratched off soon after.

Thank you @4Runner fun! Appreciate the support!

You can always get the sliders bare and coat them locally but if you get them powder coated from us, they will be zinc-rich primed and then powder coated. We recommend touching up wheeling scrapes and scratches with Rustoleum Textured Black, it matches very closely!

I loved my Mobtown on my taco but I can’t find the option of their website. How did you get these? I have not contacted them directly.

Got em on my Taco as well, definitely diggin them. Have held up well over the years, I understand an argument can be made that weld-on sliders are stronger, however I can honestly say these have taken a beating time and time again, and still rock solid.

    On the trail
I'll take the bait here. Weld on sliders are only as strong as as the metal which it is welded to. Having the large plates that bolt on sliders use distribute the shock load more evenly than small welded on pads. 4xinnovations has a video out comparing DOM and HREW they ended up bending the frame on a 3rd gen runner where the weld on plates were.
