What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Anyone call you high-maintenance.

 

My neighbor's probably think I'm crazy. I usually make multiple trips back inside the house because I forget all my high maintenance accessories.

 

Coworker came by today after work and we swapped out his stock roof rails with this set I painted. Now I'll take his stock ones and paint those for my future nephew-in-law. Should be a surprise unless he secretly joined this site.

 

These showed up today. At first I thought this is a solid metal rod, but to my surprise after you get it secured it bends to the position you want it very easy. Will have to trim a little bit to get the seat bolt cap to sit flush again....but super easy install. Now I can 4runners.com and drive a lot safer now.

 

I use mygoflight mounts to hold my iPad (kneeboard, yoke mount, and suction cup) in my plane. They are extremely high quality (and relatively expensive). But I don't use iPad or computer in my 4runner...way too many distractions on the road (IMHO does not increase situational awareness on the road).

 

I was thinking more for off roading.
Have maps & whatnot...
Just thinking.

 

Some folks use the larger one for an I-Pad when trail riding... using some brand of nav/trail software... nice to be able have some idea where you are when getting way back into it...

 

All those these are super cool I’m finding they get super hot when my ride sits in the sun all day. I’m betting they get super cold too during winter.

 

Screamed for a little bit as my property tax on the 4 Runner is $1563 bucks......FUCK!

Not today but have done a couple of things. 20% tint on the fronts
Painted the TRD skid
Painted front and rear valances

A few questions.
1. Why does everyone want to eliminate the silver that defines the TRD OR?
2. Did you use a heavy duty paint like bed liner? That is the only thing I can think of that will hold up.

I would think anything lacquer based or that has a 2k hardener additive would probably hold up the best. This does include some of the bed liner products.

With the xpel wrap there was no option for that.
I wish I would have pulled front silver piece & had done in linex. I cannot afford a lo-pro bumper for a while.
I need skids & a roof rack first. Then an awning with tent...
It never ends!

 

I used rattle can bed liner from Lowe’s. I have never been a fan of the silver. Personally I think the TRD OR badges on the side define it more than the silver valances. Prep was easy, $3-$4 scuff pad from auto zone, hit it with acetone and started spraying

 

Because they all bought the wrong color 4Runner

I personally think the silver trim only looks good on a black 4Runner.

I used to swear by plastidip.
Now, the silver accents are a delight.
That is until my wife allows me to put on a @victoryrunner slim line bumper...
First, I need their blitz sliders & a 3/4 roof rack!
Cam will get a vacation when I have the money!

I'm curious... I get notifications for most (all?) threads I'm subscribed to. But I never get notifications for this thread. Anyone else experience this?

I think there might be a couple more threads I don't get notifications for. And they're all threads that are extremely "popular". It's like the 3 or 4 most active threads on the forum and I don't get notifications for them.

Anyone know why this might be happening?
