Looking to upgrade factory tires to something a bit more all-terrain. I don't go off-road that much but do tow a boat. I'm looking for a tire, in original size, that won't kill my ride or make a lot of noise on the highway, but has an aggressive trail look. What do you all think of the Wrangler Duratrac? Is it too harsh? Any suggestions are appreciated!

I’ve heard duratracs are good. I like my Hankook Dynapros.

Check out the Firestone Destination A/Ts.

I have them on my vehicle and they sound like they would fit the bill for your needs.

    I really like them.

That is what I plan on getting this week after a lot of reviews and recommendations. I was gonna go more aggressive AT tires, but losing my company vehicle in June and it will be a daily driver.

A lot of guys are happy with duratracs.

Another suggestion is the bfgoodrich ko2. Great looking tire with very good all around performance. Mine are "C" rated. I haven't noticed any difference in fuel economy. They are extremely quiet as well.

Pretty much the only tire I like the white out look on. I dig it!

Have 3 sets of Duratracs on our T4R & two work trucks.
No noise except for the 35" on the Ram (very minimal).
They make passenger (P) rated tires & (LT) light truck. Both in factory size. 20190330_182556.jpg 20190414_194654.jpg

Michelin Defender. 90k miles isn't unheard of. Quietest tire I've ever run. Handles light off road just fine. And superb in wet/snowy conditions. It's seriously hard to beat if you're 90% on blacktop.

Guy at the Firestone shop was trying to sell me those instead of the Destinations I purchased. He said he has them on his truck and loves them. Said they were nice and quiet and performed really well in a variety of conditions. I took it with a grain of salt wondering if he got some kind of bonus for a Bridestone sale since he seemed to be pushing them pretty hard......but I don't know........maybe he actually was really happy with them.

I’ve ran the AT Revo before and they were a great tire, quiet, great traction, and long lasting.
I just put the K02’s on my wife’s new TRD. They are also quiet and very aggressive looking.

Not a fan of the terra grapplers?
They cake with mud or snow!
I used to swear by Nitto...

I do like the ridge grapplers.
The lack of siping & the possible sound scare me.
I owned some 33" Mud Grapplers that sounded like a jet plane.
Great in all conditions but loud as hell.
Also, they threw rocks a my rocker panels...
They looks killer on my super duty with 20" wheels though...

Nice! I had those on my '08 Tundra....good tire. May go with those next if my KO2's ever wear out.

What size are those? Also are you running any after market suspension parts?

I ran Goodyear Duratracs on my Tacoma...will never buy those again. Took a ton of weight to balance them, and they were VERY loud after about 25,000 miles.

Currently running Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 4Runner. Only 10,000 miles on them, but happy so far. Great traction in wet and snow. Not too noisy...at least not yet.

Thanks! I'm really happy with the way they feel on the 4Runner. Used them on dry pavement, rain, and some mild dirt trails so far. They've performed very nicely. I'll do a proper review on here at some point.

I ended up going with the Goodyear Ultra Terrains that are sold exclusively at Discount Tire. Extremely smooth, with no road noise and they look very aggressive! Only time will tell how well they hold up...
