Toytec Ultimate lift, SSO Slimline bumper and 10,000# winch, emblem blackout, hood scoop wrap.
Overlays are fast, easy and look really good. Takes about 30 minutes to apply everything in the kit from NoxLux.

I'm a fan of the overlays. Much easier and the finish looks smoother. Although I plasti dipped my roof rails which came out nice.

For the rails probably like an hour and a half to two hours.

I did my trd off road letters in black plastidip. As much as I hate the stuff it’s easy to use. Tape area up then 3-4 Light coats, let dry and peel off.

please go with emblem overlays. it will save you time and worry off having to reapply etc etc. You can find overlays for as cheap as $80 shipped and it looks amazing. you just peel back the tape, and press over the current emblem.

Meh. $15 can of plastidip over $80 overlay any day. If you taping off minimal cleanup.

Plastidip is like paint in the sense that 90% of it is prep work.
A buddy & I bought the professional turbine & sprayer.
I have many sets of wheels & logos under our belt. We have custom mixed colors and everything. It is a blast.
You can get good custom results with the Prevall system.
One day soon I will dig up all my pics & show what it can do.
If done right it can be as permanent as needed!

What do you recommend as far as proper prep?

Clean- Wash completely clean (plastidip.com) has a good cleaner. Finger oils & missed dust can ruin it.
DRY!- If doing logos or areas that can hold water. Wait. Using a blow gun off an air compressor only gets 95% of it! We had to redo logos many times on our cars because of the water!
Taping off- even though overspray can be rubbed right off. This is critical. To close & you risk peeling the dip off. To far & you will try & cover too much area & miss spots on what you are trying to dip.
Painting- many many light coats. (First coat should be 50% coverage). It self levels so do not do a heavy/wet coat! 18" wheels take about 10 coats to get all angles & enough protection to last. Our Infiniti wheels lasted 3+ yrs & only scratches were in lug holes.
I haven't done it in about a year due to time.

    Patience and practice !

I would say to anyone. Buy a couple cans & give it a shot. It is a cheap & removable upgrade.
Now I have the bug again! It is fun to play around with...
Pics are on the computer. I will add later. Sorry.

Buy plastic razor blades & plastic pic tools.
    You will use them!
Also a respirator if painting a lot! Always be safe!

So no need to lightly sand or put down a basecoat before pastidip?

Make the first coat about 50% coverage!
This will add the texture for the rest to adhere. This is from experience.
    Didn't watch video.
    Not bragging. Just saying...
I watched hours of YouTube "Dipyourcar" videos.
We have done tailgates, grills, wheels, badges & more at all angles & colors with flakes & everything. We have tried it all...

Ordered some plastidip and have it coming my way soon.

Not a fan of the black dipped emblems on a white truck look and I didn't like the flat gunmetal color they offered so I went with something that had a bit more depth. Decided to go with the Anthrecite Gray to give it a raw metal look.

Will post before and after pics.

    Another quick question:

On the front toyota emblem, on the inside of the emblem where there is that textured black plastic........is it easier to mask that off or will the dip peel off that cleanly as well?

You will love the anthracite gray! We used it a lot! Get the dip coat to keep it "wet" looking.
I have not done mine yet. However, if there is a sharp break or edge just pull the dip across the edge so it cuts it. This is how logos peel so easy. The edges cut it.
    Hope it helps!
    Good luck.
