What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Decided to see what Photon would look like in desert sand...

 

used the 4r to pick up soil for the Mrs. and the kiddos backyard flowers. our favourite local nursery.

 

it’s a blistering 18°C today, rinsed 4r from forest wheeling on the weekend, and spit shined the rock sliders.










*1k raptor liner front valance ran over small trees and prickle bushes unscathed

 

I'll be needing some help cleaning off all the forest dust on my rig!

 

Finally got a picture of both roof racks together.

 

Drove the 2011 with my wife to our daughter's house for dinner.

 

Put in an android head unit that I got from hamilton audio and installed the kicker plug and play speakers.

I got a killer deal on the ssw wheels. I also have their ssw Dakars on the tundra and like them a lot.

 

Oil change and lube. No tire rotation this time since I just got the new tires and wheels.

Filled up the 2018 with ethanol free gas

 

Added Morimoto rear tail lights, 3rd brake light and front fogs. Love the look so far.

 

Ordered a Brite Box Anytime control box. Looks rather straight forward on install. Gonna hook it up to my Auxbeam box. Other than that, Casper has been sitting collecting pollen. Waiting for a good day to wash him.

 

The yellow pollen seems to be dying off down here finally (I'm about 70 miles above FL). Detailed mine almost 2 weeks ago and it still looks clean besides some light dusting.

 

It is. I pulled pwr wire through boot on firewall to use inside fuse box.

 

my por15 and rust paint products can be rinsed and washed. Woolwax, chain wax type sprays, and surface shield/fluid film shouldn’t be “washed” no

Bought a used TRD Pro exhaust for a great price. I’m just waiting on the gasket/bolts kit. I’ve done my research and 90% sure the sound won’t bother me but my Great Dane will be happy to have the side exit exhaust.

I’m thinking of doing the same thing. How do you like the head unit? Did you also add an amp for the speaker speakers?

 

You know why it was such a great price? Because the previous owner was happy to get rid of the non-stop headache that the Pro exhaust causes.

 

I've been thinking about doing this upgrade too. The head unit, that is. I already have the Kicker setup from Trail Grid Pro. They sound good and better than the stock speakers, but when I added a Kicker amp to them they sound FREAKING awesome. The amp is a vast improvement. Worth the money.

 

Got off work.....drove home.....changed the oil and filter, added windshield washer fluid, greased the u-joints, reset the maintenance button. Now taking a break with a Coke and a smile!

 

Well, not him but his wife. She didn’t like it so he took a big hit. I’ll keep my original one and if I don’t like the Pro, I’ll sell it.

 

Interesting. One of my new ditch lights actually isn’t working…
Fuses are large enough amperage, wiring all appears connected tight.
Now I’m running a new length of 14awg trailer wire off the fuse circuit to test the led pod directly

 

I don't get all the hate. I have excellent hearing & have no problems W/sound & listen to the radio at normal levels.

 

I fixed that for ya'.
