Driving lights are too dim at night

    Has anyone tried running H11's (tab trim) in the fogs?

    pros/cons of yellow or amber lenses vs yellow or amber bulbs? lenses are cheaper im guessing...but is the end result comparable?

    I did mine the right way and replaced the stock halogen projectors with the Lexus IS250 HID projectors that also works as my brights. This is always the first upgrade I do to any vehicle I own. If you don't want to do this yourself, as it involves baking your headlights to loosen up the glue, take them apart, and replacing the guts, you can pay a shop to do it for you, but it'll cost $1500 plus.

    JP Customs LLC did the retrofit for me and they were $1650. He found a cheap set of IS250 projectors for me and an already opened set of stock T4R headlights, so it knocked the price down a little, but I would have paid more for the quality that I got. He may take a while to produce a product, but he's awesome! I found him on Facebook.

    That's a good question. I got the bulbs because they were on sale on Amazon for $115.

    I just installed the Philips LED's with yellow laminX. I'm completely blown away. They're incredible. Much wider beam and much brighter. The difference is night and day. Without laminX, I'd imagine they'd be even brighter.

    Install took me about 2 hours. Most of that was thinking and fighting the poor access on passenger side. I did everything from above and below. I didn't go through the wheel wells, although that would probably be quicker.

    Not a bad solution for $125 total. I can't imagine anyone doing this and ending up disappointed. It's a huge upgrade over stock H16 halogens.

    Nice, glad you like them. You're right, the passenger side is a pain and requires finagling to get it lined up and in. Very little knuckle room!

    I actually removed the splash cover. By releasing the bottom clips on the fog light bezel, I was able to pull it out just far enough so that I could see the clips from the splash cover. One clip at 9 o'clock and one clip at 3 o'clock. By pressing the clips with a flathead, I was able to release the clips and pull the splash guard from behind.

    This also allowed me to get the laminX in behind the fog bezels and do a perfect trim job. I used the universal fit, which was just an 8" x 4" piece of film that I cut in two. It was like $7 on Amazon.

    They're not this green in person. More amber. But there's a hint of green, in comparison to a yellow halogen, due to the 6500k LED's underneath the film.

    That said, I wouldn't call them 6500k either. More like 5000k without the yellow film.

    My headlights are Philips +100 halogen replacements. As far as halogens are concerned, they're about as white as it gets.

    With these upgrades, I'll be content... for awhile. It really is a huge upgrade over stock. I'd imagine it'd be even brighter without the yellow laminX.
