Question for the 6th gen CRV owners (2023+) or anyone who may know

I’m looking at installing a dash cam in my 2024 CRV. I used a dongar adapter for my 4Runner but they don’t make it yet for the 6th gen CRV.

have you installed one in yours? If so, how do you have it plugged in? Go old school and take it all the way to the fuse? Which fuse did you tap into that only receives power when the car is on?

FYI - I asked this at a CRV forum and they didn’t know. This 4R group is better and smarter!

Haven’t messed with a sixth gen CR-V but for the other cars around me including a couple fifth gen’s I equipped them with dashcams and ran the wire across the top of the passenger side of the windshield, down the passenger A-pillar behind the door weatherstripping and under the passenger floor mat to whatever 12V outlet it was plugged into.

It’s a little ratchet, but it works to keep it out of the way so far.

Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind if I can’t find something easier.

On mine, there is a "Collision sensor" or something. You can set it to low, med or high. I have mine set to low. Whenever I want it to manually save a video file, I tap on the dash cam three times with my finger.

    Works every time.

I prefer to tap into an existing fuse slot depending on power needs rather than tap into mirror. Add A-Fuse is easy, if you find a blank with the power you need, or an existing fuse. Both my Blackvue and Vifo cameras are hard wired that way.
