Stealth Tail Lights

Does anyone have experience with the 4Runner Lifestyle Stealth taillights. They look reasonably priced compared to other options which is great but also concerns me. I hate the look of the OEM.

I’m two weeks into 4Runner ownership, got a used 23 TRD ORP in Lunar Rock and I’m loving it but these upgrades are addicting!

 

All 4Runner lifestyle stuff are from alibaba, except the name brand ones like baja design, diode dynamics, meso, etc. Just search up 4runner tail lights on aliexpress and you'll find them. Not worth paying the absurd surcharge 4R lifestyle is charging.

 

ive had them for about 8 months now. The work and look great, no issues at all and for the price you cant beat them. One thing though, the startup "flashy" pattern only does that if your headlights are on. But yeah, I really like them and havent had any issues with them

 

Please don’t get me started. This was supposed to be a ‘new’ order. Never again when I saw what was inside.

 

that is unfortunate, but id chalk that up to just human error. Mine did not arrive like that and they work flawlessly and really look sharp

lol, yeah i cant blame you for that surprise package. Id be pissed as well. They are absolutely Alibaba as someone else mentioned BUT I do have to say, zero issues so far. Ive hit them with high pressure water and there are zero leaks. Someone previously put the link where you can buy them directly from Alibaba. I've had the same issue with Cali Raised, never buying from them again. They sold me rock sliders that maybe 1/2 of the moutning bolts didnt align to the frame. When I called them they blamed toyota.

 

Any recommendations for something similar at a lower price point than the big brands, or just cough up the dough and buy once cry once.

 

I have the Morimoto XB Gen 2 tails. tbh my experience has been mediocore. The edges are rough and sharp, I went through three sets just to get ok fitment. Even then, on the last set, I gave up and had to take out the dremel to get it to acceptably fit.

Also, I got the first set through 4Runner Lifestyle: it took 2 months for me to receive the replacement set (second set), communication was slow, responses were not helpful. 2nd set was so awful in fitment that I couldn't even get it to seat. 3rd set was acceptable, but still needed grinding.

And this is a "name brand". Turns out the Morimoto taillights are also avilable on alibaba... I have their XB Evo Headlights 2. I think Morimoto had some hands on design with this product. But same story, they look great, perform great. But the fit and finish is not on par with OEM.

Nothing i've dealt with in the aftermarket aesthetics department has matched OEM quality, ever.

You can find the morimoto tail lights on alibaba if you look hard enough. Much lower price than what they're sold for right now

 

Try having a Tundra......

 

I went USR stock looking with black housings. Not a fan of any of the other lights.

 

Man, that’s gotta be frustrating. Hate to pay for quality and not get it.
