    I'm going to say it.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
And I hope others are thinking it too.

Well aren’t you guys something, listen to you.
I vandalized and violated a highway-side rock blown up to make the highway, guilty!
I hope not, but may burn in you know where for eternity for that. And too many other things. You know things you’ve done too my friends.

Yeah, you did, and we do not approve. You're a grown man. You should know better. It's cool that you want to show the love you have for your wife. There's better ways of doing it.

Ah the old "they / you did it too" routine. I got that from my kids when they were seven and I still get it from 7/8 of the people I arrest or cite, most of who have the mentality of my kids at seven.

I don't think anyone here really cares deep in their soul that you violated that rock, but posting that you did it while simultaneously claiming to dislike that sort of vandalism and then also impugning the integrity of other people on this board that you don't know by suggesting that they've done the same... That's a special kind of oblivion.

@MeefZah I didn’t suggest anyone else has done the same at all, I said people have done things. In my opinion, there’s a difference between paint on a rock next to the highway in the middle of nowhere, and paint On landmarks, tourist spots, and property. You sound super wound up tight and aggressive let’s all relax.

I understand your point, and I'm not trying to argue or contaminate the thread or disrespect you, but when you say there's a difference between a little bit of graffiti on a rock and other more serious types of vandalism - you're wrong. The issue isn't that there's a little bit of graffiti on a rock, the issue is that other people who see that then think it's acceptable and do the same or worse. It's the broken windows theory of how a neighborhood degenerates into chaos, starting with a few broken windows that no one fixes.

I spend a third of my day everyday picking up other people's trash and cleaning up dump sites - in a park, no less. The dump sites exist because one guy threw one bottle out the window and then somebody else was like "oh I can get away with it because someone else clearly is" and before you know it there's a dumpster full of trash in a spot. Graffiti is no different.

    Nice!

Headed to the National Park now, but I’m sure we’ll go check out the State Park too. I’ve been putting this trip off for too long.

The wife and I realized several years ago that we have been to more nat'l parks than ones we haven't. Only bucket list item is to go to all of the ones we can drive to. Big Bend is on that list. She'll be done working come November.

Best time is winter. Better off-roading at the Big Bend Ranch state park by far and no crowds...and don't count on any good Mexican food in Marfa, lol.

I'm on my annual Arizona gateway and as usual there tons of trails and great spots to go offroading. Yesterday, I went to Bulldog Canyon, which is located in the east part of Scottsdale area (Mesa and Apache Junction). Trail is about 14 miles one way, it took me 4hrs to get thru. I stopped and had lunch and reflected on life and was thankful for all we got and the great bunch of folks we have here on the forum. These are the most relevant pics from yesterday.

    Entrance.jpg
Entrace of the trail - you do have to get a permit on recreation.gov and please close the gate. 4Runner all clean and ready to go. Will compare at the exit!
    Middle of trail.jpg
Middle way - kind of, plenty of cactus around as usual in AZ. It was a monday so nobody was around, the occasional dirt bikes, no yotas around though :(
    Middle of trail flexing.jpg
One of the hills, nothing difficult really. The trail is probably moderate and no difficult spots. I did collect 10000 steps on my fitbit - just bouncing around all day - didn't do the exercise obviously, although my back is sore today from yesterday. Offroading seems fun at times but not the next day.
    Yellow mountain.jpg
This yellow mountain at the end of the Canyon, pretty color IMO, caught my eye right away. Elevation here between 1500 to 2300ft, guessing.
    End of trail.jpg
At the end of the trail - all dusty and dirty. Ready to go back to mainland and clean this thing up. Bulldog Canyon is an easy trail I think, easy on the obstacles and fairly roomy on both sides of the roads.

Fun times in Arizona. The state has so much to offer for outside activities.
