Has anyone here (real person on this forum) actually taken delivery of a new 6th gen???

Because it doesn't affect you. Why chase down something you don't like, when no one is forcing you to buy it?

    Seems unhealthy.

Because I like cars and it’s interesting to discuss. Is that acceptable?

I like cars and discussing them (obviously), but my happiness doesn't depend on what Toyota or any other car manufacturer brings to the market.

I don't know if this applies to you specifically, but I was referring to people who can't stay out of the 6th gen threads, but just continually bash the new model. If they dislike it that much, maybe they should find something else to focus on.

Odd to see those locked into not changing their minds the other way. I suppose its small nut sack behavior. (SP) Not to mention the issues they have had with "the new gen" in a month, the previous hasn't had in a decade.
But hey, to each their own.
Edit- but that shit !!!!!. .... To say "i got new". That is some HUGE big dick energy if i ever,... well , never seen. Cheers!

Makes sense. Asking a forum, .... about the new rig you want to buy. Maybe you should do your own........ meh, never mind.

I'm looking forward to closer 2024 SR5 > 2025 SR5 comparisons. I saw on the spec sheet that the SR5 doesn't have start/stop which seems odd to me and wondering if Toyota made an error.

Then by that standard, there should be no 6th gen threads until people take delivery and then only those who have first hand ownership experience should be allowed to post. Everything else is just speculation and projection.

Looking at my local market within 150 miles of SF bay area, very few available, nothing under 50k. 2 SR5s "in transit" but I'm sure those are spoken for and one has a 5k markup. They seem to be shipping a lot of TRD Sports that are 51k and up.

So the prospect of 4Runner under 50k is going to be dim for the time being. Good news for 5th gen owners looking to unload though. As late as last September there were a steady stream of 42-43k SR5s so the buyer are going to be in for surprise now that SR5s are pushing 47-48k with options before markup.

I’m not a fan of that site. It’s annoying to navigate with too many ads and it doesn’t have the knowledge base of this site. Too many members there have never even owned a 4Runner before.

if you are talking about toyota - 4runner . org (yeah i quit that place after the revamp of the site, the ads are ridiculously over zealous and the forum layout is a mess. i mean they show the 2019 and higher years as a 6G - smh)

or are you talking about the 4runner6g forums? i was referencing the 4runner6g in my post

I was talking about the 6G site. I’m not a fan of any of the sites dedicated to just one generation.

Anyone know why the “owner review” thread got locked? I just tried to respond to @FourBelugas and was like WTF is going on here, where’s the button.

Probably just as well, with lack of actual 6th gen info it was getting off topic and more of a shoot-the-breeze thread. I think people were hoping the buyer would share technical details or impressions beyond photos taken in LA-metro apartment complex parking garage

I do want to know how these things hold up off road. Since Toyota was nice enough to keep the SR5 base price about the same I am still considering getting a 2WD and throw on 35s and a lift kit to throw around in some of the Inland Empire desert and not f up my 4wd 5th gen ORPs.

TRD Sport Premium: Picked her up last week. Walked on the lot and one was available for purchase still in the shop getting a state inspection put on. Coming from 5th gen. 4Runner (2016) and huge upgrade. The turbocharged engine def has more power and pickup then it's V6 predecessor. Too early for real-world MPG but a super comfortable ride. I'm a firm believer if you care that much about MPG's, stop looking at the 4Runner and just go buy something else. The 14" multimedia center takes a little getting use to but it's been growing on me. It's a big difference from the display screen on my old 2016. Lot's of safety tech that I didn't think I would care about as much as I do now that I have it (yes you can turn most of it off). Digital Instrument Cluster is pretty cool. I'm old school (not old) and this is the first one I've had. Want to know something else just ask.

that's fantastic, congrats, and thanks for sharing. did you pay MSRP? How's the sound of the engine? at idle? Under acceleration? There have been lots of comments about a ton of wheezing, clicking, and clacking etc. What's your impression of the quality of the interior materials and overall interior feel vs the 5th gen? What about build quality?....any complaints on fit and finish? Rattles or squeaks? Thanks again for sharing

Thank you! Yes paid MSRP. Dealer had added $5K Market Adjustment Pricing to it and it must have been my lucky day to negotiate because I negotiated it away. They also added like every accessary (even the ones I didn't want) to the sticker and no budging on those (all-weather mats, cargo cover, cargo net, etc.) They may have been added at the factory/ port but I don't know. It was also 2 days until the end of the month and if that had anything to do with it I don't know. I don't hear the engine at idle but acceleration sounds good. It's not going to break any sound barriers and tbh I'm glad it's more on the quieter side. My motorcycle is the noise-maker! I haven't heard any of the mentioned noise above and have about 150 miles on it now between city and highway. Fit and Finish is great and the cockpit is very quiet. Storage is small in the center counsel but there are a few additional cubbies to hide stuff away. JBL sound system sounds really good but again not going to win any contests. Still much better than the stock speaker system in my 2016.

How’s the back seat legroom compared to goth gen and also the size of the rear cargo space? Also can you take a picture of the rear brake line routing inside of the wheels?

What's the quality like? I got a lemon with my latest tacoma.

I tried the 2024 tacoma and it was really really bad.

    * Paint chipped by just looking at it, had whole truck re-painted under warranty 3 months in.
    * very thin/flimsy sheet metal body (same as the 22 tundra I tried), I had hood replaced too it no pun intended, but it taco'd with 6" of snow while parked at work. It wiggled like a
    * center digital cockpit display was a light show when a sensor got snow/ice on it. Could not exit out of the slide-show of very distracting alerts. It also constantly factory reset, reverting any customizations
    * Changed engine oil at 1k miles, oil analysis showed a lot of premature wear and fuel already. (Rarely idled, country back road driving for 30mins + at 50 MPH +)
    * 2nd oil change with 5k miles on the oil had 15% fuel
    * 8 speed tranny blew

The dealer was fast about addressing all the issues but the last one, I just hired an attorney and lemon'd it after it had spent over 30 days in repair.

Just a tip, never threaten to lemon or "buy back" by calling any vehicle maker or dealer yourself. Just collect evidence, hand it to an attorney and let them take it from there.

Total window sticker price before "Market Adjustment Pricing" was right under $60K. Included Moonroof & Tow Tech Package Options, Predator Steps, and most of the Styling & Protection accessories.
