What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

After a long analysis paralysis, I finally ordered the Bridgestone dueler ascent A/T tires through Costco. I have an installation appointment next week.

Now I can’t decide if I should let Costco dispose of my stock tires (only have about 1400 miles on them) or keep to sell them myself.

 

Find a local charity that helps working people to donate them to. Someone can use them.

 

My Sherpa Crestone comes in tomorrow so only 13.75 weeks after I install that

 

If you give them to Costco they will eventually end up getting resold by a used tire dealer. Keep them and either sell or give away to another Toyota owner.

 

Just got back from New Orleans. Put gas in my 4Runner and hid the cost of 2 packs of cigarettes into the bill so my wife wouldn't find out. Taking my 4Runner in tomorrow to the dealership I last had my first warranty oil change done. (I had it done on my dime at 1,500 miles) Something tells me the oil change at 5,500 miles did not get done...got a weird pop up message at start up about need an oil change AFTER I got it back. If that is the case I am moderately pissed but not totally surprised these days.....

 

Hell, I just got back from New Orleans where gas is $2.65 a gallon!

 

That's an automatic reminder. Every 5k interval IIRC

The bumper was a guy with a trailer. He was trying to turn the trailer around and side swiped the Runner with the trailer.

Just pointing out my bad luck. Need to plug the tire Saturday and I guess now take the rear bumper off so I can at least drive it around.

Now you can get a steel bumper on his dime.

 

I was parked. He was trying to turn it around in the parking lot, cut it too wide and smashed it. That's an option for sure, I'll be researching that.

...^^^... That was my problem too, but found it on Etsy for maybe 15 bucks. It was a piece of cake. I am paranoid about breaking trim clips but this was super easy.

Go to ETSY.com... put in search bar ... "4RunnerRearCamMount" ... and I bought the one that was about $15.00. It clips on the headliner edge and is held in place by a trim tab push button. Then adhesive mount for the cam to the Etsy cam mount. When you pop off the headliner trim button, try to use a forked trim tab tool, it makes it super easy. I also went to Toyota and got 3 extra trim tab buttons just in case.

 

Also, if you have a popular model of dashcam, you can find a custom mount for the rear camera. I happened to find one for the Thinkware U1000 that worked great for me
