    shit looks good.

can anyone help explain how the hell I can re-install front valance/clips with the bumper cover attached? some of the slots you cannot see, and hand access is so tight.
besides removing the black cover at front of engine compartment, do I remove some bolts too?

I used this video as a guide. The front took me less time than the rear, about a 30 minute job start to finish for the front.

I was able to take mine off and reinstall it without removing anything extra. Maybe have someone with small hands assist you.

    It looks really good sir!

I removed mine without removing the front cover, thought I was going to have to hire a height restricted contortionist to do it, but I managed at my age!
You can handle it. No extra bolts to remove. Watch the vid…..

Drove my baby 4R to work today. I park away from everyone. And after work, I came out to see a twin 4R parked next to me (mine is the one on the right). This made me smile. If you own the one on the left....Hi, love your truck. You have good taste.
    IMG_4940.jpg

Does anyone know where I can send in a pic of my odometer for my Mama 4R (my 1999 one)? I want one of those "high mileage stickers" that I've seen in a few places.

That looks good. I may do mine too. I bought an aftermarket one and I don’t like it.
thanks for getting those links. But I thought toyota gives one out too. If they don’t, then I’ll have to buy one.

Dang, I've gone back and forth on whether or not to paint the front and rear valence black. I think some colors look fine with the stock silver (as long as it's not chrome :)). BUT seeing your process and patience, raptor liner might have convinced me otherwise.

If you email the address on this card with a picture of your odometer then Toyota will send you a sticker. A few more weeks and I’ll be doing it for my Tacoma.

Red wasn’t my first choice but it was getting down to the wire as all the 4Rs were getting sold from right under my nose. But the color has grown on me and glad I have it.

    Update on these skids.
As many have already advised on this site, the aluminum did not take very well to abuse.
    IMG_20250225_095242201.jpg
In fairness, that's really the only real bad spot. The rest of the plate area is scraped/scratched as you might expect from a trail run but they did their job to protect my undercarriage. I think their design causes them to hang rather low but that's hard to say without something else to compare to.
For now I will continue to beat the piss out of them and re-assess down the road. I would not buy again though.

Long overdue oil change, filter, air filter and cabin filter using makeshift brick ramps. OEM everything. Oil was Valvoline High mileage. Everything hand tight.
The filters were not to bad, the oil looked darker due to a longer change interval this time.
Still nothing enjoyable about it. At least the weather was in the 60s.

That’s very nice of you, glad to hear it! I agree, I’ve always liked the silver valances and held on as long as I could before succumbing to yet another mod.

Whats funny is, what @dgrenier15 calls my “process and patience”, my wife would describe as slow and distracted and stupid.

Took 4Runner to Discount in Louisville for balance and rotation. Guy asked me if I wanted my alignment checked since my fronts are cupping inside. I didn’t know they did alignment. He said they just got it in November. Anyways toe was out and now it’s not.image.jpg

Okay. We'll see. Other than the oil door they look good. I guess it's in my head now that they hang low. Have you found that they scrape a lot? It seemed like I was scraping on a lot of (imo) mild-ish stuff.

I have had both weathertech (in many vehicles) and once husky. The Husky over time rolled on the edges and in the 4 or 5 times I have got weathertechs it only slightly did that once.

Just got these in today from JBA off-road. Looking forward to installing them on my ride this weekend. This will complete the suspension setup I chose with the Eibach pro truck stage 2 kit I already installed.
