Temps are up to an amazing 56° today so gave the SR5P a bath to get all the salt and crud off her! Vacuumed 'er and wiped down the interior and washed the floor mats.

 

Got my Tufskinz emblem overlays for the front grille in the mail yesterday and put them on after lunch today. An easy install and now all the badging matches the valences

Went to Costco and spent too much. Stopped by the tire department to look at A/T tires but they didn’t have the one I wanted to see…special order only.

That reminds me, I need to do this to my predator steps. They're showing a little oxidation. I've been meaning to take them off (or just mask the area really well) and hitting them with a few coats of rhino liner.

They are too expensive for what you get compared to other manufacturers. I get emails almost daily from Toyota dealers advertising $3-5K off of the 2024 Tacomas and they still aren’t moving.

 

Just wait until the tariffs and new economy kick in. I'm hoping the stock market dip on Friday was just a blip but I'm holding my breath to see what the long term consequences will be. I'd say the forecast at the moment is cloudy and hope interest rates and inflation don't start to rise again soon, otherwise you'll see a lot more vehicles on lots

 

I learned Friday that my '24 just plain freaks out if I don't get the tailgate shut well and attempt to drive away. Lights and chimes and blinking triangles, oh my!

Gas is down in my area, my credit union just offered me 4.5% if I want a car loan, the only tariffs are reciprocal. Do some research before you post false information. Tariffs were threatened and rescinded after Mexico and Canada caved to the current administration.

 

Could also be Toyota trying to get at many Tacoma's across the border before Trump's big brain 25% tariff on foreign made vehicles kicks in. That'll also effect the 4Runner and Land Cruiser too

 

Huh? The tariffs weren't rescinded, just delayed. And then additional announced on any foreign made car, whether it's from Europe, Japan, Mexico or Canada.

Look at the source. He signed an EO stating reciprocal tariffs, which means country's that charge us tariffs will pay the same as they charge us. He did a lot of the same things in his first term and the economy thrived, gas,interest rates and groceries were all affordable, unlike the last 4 years. Stop fear mongering.

 

Didn't mean to stir up a political conversation, although that may be where this is headed. I agree with you that it's not misinformation, just a perfect storm brewing. I really hope the rumors of "stimulus" checks doesn't materialize because inflation will not be far behind

 

I changed the rear differential fluid for the first time today at 119K miles. The oil was still a nice golden color.

In 2002 I purchased a new Sequoia, changed all of the fluids to Mobil1, sold the truck to a buddy whe still drives it weekly. It has 635k on it and driveline and engine are all original.

 

Doesn't matter if they're reciprocal or preemptive strikes - tariffs will result in higher prices for Americans. I'm not an economics major but not sure how else that could result

Didn't do anything today but waiting on my ROF tire carrier to ship (should be in PC) and plan to also install my ARB diff breather (and locker) relocation and blue sea systems switch for the winch on the C4 fab engine bay mount at the same time. Looks like good timing with warmer weather finally approaching

 

I paid about $28K for my 2008 TRD Sport Tacoma. While I was at the dealership for my 4Runner's free first service, I was looking at a 2019 Sport while I waiting. It was $42K for nearly the same configuration.

 

It’s worth trying something different. What we have been doing lately certainly isn’t working.
